About the Role:

*This role is a New York City based HYBRID position. Candidates must be located in NYC, and willing to come into the office on a hybrid basis, three times a week (Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday).*

The Search and Personalization team builds backend systems that help our users find and discover content and provide a personalized experience driven by data and machine learning. We are looking for a Senior Backend Software Engineer to design, code and enhance our backend services that provide Search, Recommendations, Popular, Trending, Similar, Continue Watching, Personalized Notifications system, and help us build new capabilities such as upselling, targeting, etc.

You will work closely with Data Engineering, Platform Services, Data Science, and VideoAI to continuously improve and build these capabilities. Your work will be critical in providing a best in class user experience and improve engagement for our subscribers.

Requirements:

• 8+ years of software development experience with Golang, Java, Scala or C++
• Experience designing and operating large-scale distributed systems in production
• Experience working with microservices and service-oriented architectures
• Experience building RESTful APIs and event-driven, asynchronous services
• Experience working with NoSQL databases at scale
• Experience building and deploying containerized, cloud-native applications
• Experience applying caching strategies using in-memory and distributed systems such as Redis, Memcached
• Experience with production instrumentation, monitoring, and alerting
• Ability to write clean, maintainable, well-tested code
• Strong sense of ownership and accountability for systems end to end
• Strong verbal and written communication
• BS and/or MS in Computer Science or related field

Nice to have:

• Big data experience  
• Experience with Search Technology like Elastic search
• Experience with ML / AI techniques
• Experience with A/B testing

Fubo’s minimum base salary for this role if hired in New York City is $180,000 per year; maximum base salary for this role is $215,000 per year. Additionally, this role is eligible to participate in Fubo's equity plan, annual cash bonus plans, unlimited PTO, and a full range of medical benefits. The final offer amount will be at the company’s sole discretion and determined by multiple factors, including years and depth of experience and expertise, location, and other business considerations.
