Beaker CPI Systems Analyst III

As a Beaker CPI Systems Analyst, you will support information technology application(s) through planning, designing, implementing, maintaining and providing ongoing optimization. Duties include troubleshooting Beaker/LIS related incidents, workflow analysis, monitoring and addressing Beaker/LIS related interface errors, performing high complexity Beaker/LIS related build, and coordinating moderate and high complexity projects. The caregiver in this role will support many Transfusion Medicine LIS projects and 20 blood banks.  
 

A caregiver in this position works 8:00am – 5:00pm. 

Must have Blood Bank Lab Information System experience


A caregiver who excels in this role will:  

  • Participate in feasibility analysis, estimating, planning, designing, developing, prototyping, building, resting, implementing, quality assurance evaluation and modification of automated systems. 

  • Recommend solutions to enhance system functionality. 

  • Collaborate with system users and other IT professionals to evaluate, plan, design, implement, and provide ongoing optimization and preventative maintenance support for Beaker/LIS applications. 

  • Gather, validate, and translate technological requirements into design and development specifications while providing Beaker/LIS product management. 

  • Analyze, design and build workflows to meet the needs of Beaker/LIS users. 

  • Analyze and diagnose Beaker/LIS related system problems, identify root cause, and solve the problem or escalate issues to other appropriate IT staff when outside area of responsibility or expertise. 

  • Coordinate moderate and high complexity Beaker/LIS projects. 

  • Assume on-call responsibilities as required. 


Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:   

  • One of the following combinations of education and experience: 

  • Associate’s degree in information technology, computer science or a related field and six years of implementation, support and management of computer-based systems experience, preferably in a healthcare or laboratory environment, or three years of Beaker/LIS implementation or support experience. 

  • Bachelor’s degree and four years of implementation, support and management of computer-based systems experience, preferably in a healthcare or laboratory environment. 

  • Bachelor’s degree and two years of Beaker/LIS experience. 

  • High school diploma/GED and eight years of implementation, support and management of computer-based systems experience, preferably in a healthcare or laboratory environment. 

  • High school diploma/GED and six years of Beaker/LIS experience may substitute the experience requirement. 

  • Certification/proficiency in one or more Epic applications.  

  • Beaker certification/proficiency or other Lab Informatics System certification.  


Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include: 

  • Bachelor’s degree. 

  • Experience in transfusion medicine with automated instruments. 

  • Blood bank lab information system experience.  

  • Experience as a Blood Bank System Analyst, preferably with Haemonetics STX.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to perform work in a stationary position for extended periods.
  • Ability to travel throughout the hospital system.
