What We Do

The Talent Acquisition Director is responsible for leading the talent acquisition function for the U.S.-based company operations. This role will be operationally accountable for all aspects of recruiting including business planning to understand staffing requirements, all areas within sourcing, interviewing, hiring and onboarding. Manages third-party talent acquisition partnerships including contingent staffing and career sites, and partners internally to optimize the integrated applicant tracking system. This position will work cross-functionally with all areas of HR including total rewards, the HR Business Partners, and the employee growth and development team. The Director of Talent Acquisition will also build relationships with business leaders to understand the organizational dynamics and deploy recruiters to meet staffing needs. Leads a large, high-volume, centralized talent acquisition team that delivers a superior level of service in the acquisition of new talent, and advancement of existing talent, to the organization across multiple business units and on a nationwide basis.

This role will be hybrid 2-3 days per week in Santa Ana, CA.

What You'll Do

  • Provide strategic and tactical management of the talent acquisition function including the build of a recruitment strategy that attracts and retains the best talent for First American and staffing planning  that ensures alignment with business priorities across all divisions for scalable and sustainable results.
  • Builds trusted relationships and works collaboratively with all HR functions including the HR business partners to understand the business dynamics, the HRMS leaders to align on the HRMS strategy and how it collaborates with recruiting, and total rewards for collaboration on areas that are linked to recruiting including pay transparency and pay equity.
  • Leverage and manage third-party partnerships with talent acquisition firms, search firms and temporary agencies, ensuring high performance teamwork.
  • Develop enhanced systems, resources and tools for hiring managers.
  • Offer proactive expertise on current and upcoming talent trends that impact the talent strategy or business, including the evaluation of integrating AI into the talent acquisition function.
  • Develop and track TA metrics that help assess, analyze, and understand the talent pipeline, build in assessment for areas of strength and areas of development for continuous improvement.
  • Leverage the employer brand as it relates to talent acquisition to attract top talent.
  • Responsible for the success of a large team of talent acquisition professionals.   Includes hiring, training, coaching and mentoring, and ensuring clear communication of roles and responsibilities.

WHAT YOU’LL BRING

Required Education, Experience, Certification/Licensure

  • BA/BS or equivalent years of experience in Business, Human Resources, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 8-10 years combination of broad-based Human Resources experience with at least 5 years of talent acquisition experience at a management level, including interactions with senior management and HR colleagues.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES (KSAs)

  • Demonstrated competency in developing and executing strategic plans that align with the business goals and objectives
  • Ability to recognize, develop and implement innovative talent acquisition programs.
  • Experience working for a mid-large sized publicly traded company in a fast-paced environment with multiple, diverse business segments.
  • Knowledge of current best practices within the talent acquisition profession in addition to federal, state and local employment-related regulations.
  • Knowledge of the trends and methods for attracting and retaining employees specifically in the title insurance, real estate or similar industries in preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and influence a business team; approachable and effective communicator with people across all levels in the organization.
  • Proven ability to operate in a team setting where how the work is done is just as important as the results
  • Strong interpersonal and written, verbal and presentation communication skills, with the ability to develop a high degree of personal credibility across client groups.
  • Demonstrated intellectual curiosity, change agility, analytical skills and sound judgement in areas of high complexity and ambiguity.
  • Technology savvy with the ability to implement and manage recruitment-related technology platforms.
  • A proven track record in building partnerships across all human resources teams.
  • Prior experience with HRMS and Applicant Tracking Systems.
  • Ability to lead as well as to individually contribute results when needed.

Pay Range: $145,000- $193,325 Annually

This hiring range is a reasonable estimate of the base pay range for this position at the time of posting.  Pay is based on a number of factors which may include job-related knowledge, skills, experience, business requirements and geographic location.
