Job Description Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated team player with strong analytical and people management skills who specializes in creating, driving, and executing projects. As a data science manager, this person will be providing data-driven solutions for managing and optimizing the AI models for GSICPI Workforce Planning and Management program at PayPal. This role will primarily involve in developing and optimizing forecasting models, schedule optimization models, and enhanced affinity scoring models for routing and prioritization of leads delivery. This role will be supporting data exploration, extraction, configuration, modeling, and developing solutions to improve customer experiences. This person will also be working closely with our technology partners in defining requirements, global operations partners, identifying and driving sustainable operational improvements, as well as with the product development partners to ensure proper implementation of the solution. What you need to know about the role:

This position is part of Global Data Science and Analytics organization. Leading Data Science and Machine Learning team that owns data science solution development and maintenance for PayPal Back Office workforce management.

Meet our team:

You will be working with Machine Learning experts around the world, solving good variety of business problems to support PayPal back office efficiency, including detection, automation, optimization and forecast. You will have the opportunity to engage with product, analytics and operation experts to understand the business problems, come up with data science solutions, leveraging PayPal’s world class machine learning platform to research and build AI models or products that have direct impact to PayPal customer and operation efficiency.

Your way to impact:

You will work as a machine learning scientist to:

  • Boost PayPal’s back office efficiency using data science

  • Team building for employee engagement and productivity

  • Scale automated work force management and planning.

  • Bring value to PayPal business using internal and external data.

Your day to day

In your day to day role you will:

  • Identify and address data science problems during normal course of work and respond to risk mitigation needs quickly to solve issues with minimum guidance.

  • Participate in the formulation and implementation of data science solutions or pipelines

  • Exercise judgment in selecting methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria for obtaining results on matters of significance to the business

  • Look for improvement and innovation opportunities with business impact. Provide a source of high-quality ideas. 

What do you need to bring-

  • 2+ years of managerial experience of data scientist or engineers

  • Proficiency with data science and statistical analysis framework and algorithms. For example: time series modelling, neural network, GBM, optimization algorithm

  • Ability to communicate effectively with professional with various backgrounds.

  • Expertise in analyzing, visualizing and manipulating big datasets

  • Proficiency with SQL or Big Query

  • Familiarity with Linux and big data

  • Impeccable analytical and problem-solving skills
