Job Description:

Role title:  Registered Nurse - Community Nursing (Year 1 - 8)

Role type: Max term contracts part time (24 hours per week until May 2026 & 16 hours per week until January 2027)

Department and location:  Hospital in the Home (HITH), St Vincent’s Hospital, Darlinghurst

Salary:  $74,317.94 - $104,336.27 (pro-rata) + super.

About the role

Hospital in the Home (HITH): Provides acute hospital-level care to patients in their own homes as a safe alternative to inpatient admission.

  • Practice in line with NSW Health guidelines, local policies, and protocols.

  • Deliver evidence-based nursing care to people of all ages and cultural backgrounds, including individuals, families, and communities.

  • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care collaboratively to achieve health goals and optimal outcomes.

  • Lead and coordinate nursing and healthcare across settings, including referrals and collaboration with other professionals and services.

  • Practice independently and collaboratively, maintaining accountability and appropriately delegate care based on staff education, training, and context.

About you

  • Currently registered as a Registered Nurse (division 1) with the Australian Health Professionals Regulation Agency (AHPRA).

  • Current NSW unrestricted driver's license (class c or above) in order to attend client's home with provided car.

  • Experience working within community healthcare settings is highly desired.

  • Demonstrated ability to work within an interdisciplinary team using effective communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Demonstrated effective time management skills and ability to prioritise competing workloads within a complex environment.
