Job Description:

What you’ll do:

  • Participate in the delivery of software changes in a geospatial hazard and risk application
  • Own, grow and update technical backlog
  • Review business stories for development readiness
  • Code contributor/reviewer (Java/Spring Boot)
  • Ability to define detailed technical acceptance criteria for the development teams
  • Identify opportunities for improvement of our processes and systems
  • Review technical designs to ensure they meet the customer need
  • Review Oracle and Postgres database scripts for implementation
  • Demonstrate a strong understanding of architectural standards and software development methodologies

Job Qualifications:

Skills and Experience:

  • Experience as a team lead
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent work experience.
  • 5+ years of experience developing applications using Java, Spring Boot
  • Strong understanding of architectural standards and software development methodologies
  • Experience in various database and big data technologies
  • Experience with message queue technologies
  • Ability to mentor and educate development teams on technical and architectural approaches.
  • Strong oral and written skills
  • Business/technical requirements analysis skills
  • Flexibility and adaptability to the demands and requirements of a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities; Organizational and time-management abilities
  • Strong interpersonal / relationship management skills
  • Angular, Groovy, Kafka, RabbitMQ, ElasticSearch, Jenkins, Oracle, Postgres, CockroachDB, Docker, Big Query
  • Full stack development experience
  • Experience creating and modifying CI/CD pipelines
  • Hands on experience with Cloud Platforms (GCP, AWS, or Azure)
  • Experience in designing and implementing large-scale event-driven architectures
  • Domain-specific industry experience in risk/hazard insurance a plus

Annual Pay Range:

110,500 - 150,000 USD
