Summary:

The Senior GIS Specialist will provide mapping and data support to the Engineering, Operations, and Business Development teams. The position will report to the Director of Technical Services.

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and manage GIS data and processes in support of engineering projects
  • Support project managers in conducting GIS related meetings and training
  • Support enterprise GIS data management and ArcGIS portal web map applications
  • Maintain and update pipeline operations GIS data with as-built information supplied by third parties
  • Support Operations and Regulatory groups with data, maps, reports, and other GIS information
  • Develop maps, exhibits, graphs, and plot other information using ArcGIS Desktop software
  • Assist Business Development with preparation of presentation maps
  • Perform detailed GIS analysis and quantity calculations in support of project development

Requirements:

  • 4-year degree or technical training in Geography, GIS, Engineering, or Information Technology
  • 4 years of direct ArcGIS software experience
  • 2 years of experience in pipeline/utility operations or project development
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet strict deadlines
  • Self-motivated, with acute attention to detail and can complete assignments with minimal supervision
  • Strong written and verbal communication and presentation skills
  • Proficient in ArcGIS Pro, and MS Office software
  • Knowledge of Pipeline, Midstream, or Oil & Gas Industry is a plus
  • Experience in Autodesk CAD software is a plus
  • Experience with Enverus DrillingInfo, Rextag, and TX Railroad Commission GIS data is a plus
  • Knowledge of Esri Utility & Pipeline Data Model (UPDM) or Pipeline Open Data Standard (PODS) is a plus
  • Additional years of relevant experience may be accepted in lieu of formal degree
