About the role

What you need to know:

The role of Complex Claims Adjuster is a dynamic and exciting position in an international environment. Working within the casualty claims team you will be part of a highly motivated and experienced claims team, based in our office which is located in the Rivium in Capelle aan den IJssel. The team handles claims for all products in the casualty range, like product liability, employer’s liability and product recall. Claims will be mainly bodily injury claims and material damages.

Functional Responsibilities:

As a Complex Claims Adjuster you will contribute to our success by a timely, accurate and customer focused claim resolution, minimizing indemnity exposure and mitigating vendor and legal expense, providing a high standard of customer service. On a day-to-day basis you will be: 

  • Handling complex casualty claims: Gathering relevant information, determine coverage, assessing liability and quantum analysis.
  • Engaging, monitoring and managing experts and lawyers where necessary.
  • Effectively communicating with internal stakeholders and brokers, (medical) experts, clients, lawyers, victims or their legal representative.
  • Working with underwriters turning claims experience into improved products .
  • Adhering to compliance and claims guidelines and playing an exemplary role towards other team members.
  • Ensuring adherence to best practice procedures for casualty complex claims, consistent with global best practice.

Requirements:

  • Experience with handling and settling casualty claims, including engaging, monitoring, and managing experts/lawyers and adjusting/taking control where necessary is a plus
  • Fluency in Dutch. Knowledge of the English language is a plus
  • Legal degree in Dutch civil law
  • Good analytical skills
  • Commitment to service-quality & performing on a ‘first time right’-base
  • Ability to contribute effectively within a team environment
  • Strong communication skills, both written & verbal
