The Role: 

The Technical Program Manager will play a pivotal role in the development and deployment of Generate’s Machine Learning platform to produce novel therapeutics. They will drive the definition of research and engineering roadmaps, and delivery of platform capabilities, coordinating across dry and wet lab teams. They will enable focus in teams by co-developing goals and priorities and seek opportunities to optimize work in a way that is sustainable. The successful candidate will be able to influence stakeholders and cross-functional team members in a fast-paced, highly interdisciplinary and entrepreneurial environment. This role will report to the VP ML Strategy & Operations. 

Here's how you will contribute:

  • Manage the delivery of platform capabilities by collaborating with scientists and engineers across the organization to define roadmaps, priorities and scope 
  • Partner closely with team leads as a strategic thought partner  
  • Drive end-to-end platform development project planning and delivery, using knowledge of project methodologies including tools and techniques such as stand ups, retrospectives, etc.  
  • Navigate an ambiguous and changeable environment to track progress against goals, and anticipate and propose solutions to issues and risks 
  • Develop and manage stakeholder communications, including reporting and metrics 
  • Evaluate and improve ways of working, tools or processes for efficiency, repeatability and sustainability 
  • Lead brainstorms and idea sharing, help to identify key themes, simplify complex problems and discover solutions 

The Ideal Candidate will have:

  • Experience independently program managing teams in fast-paced and constantly evolving environments in Tech (AI/ML preferred) 
  • Delivery project management experience partnering with research/engineering leads, with a demonstrated ability to improve processes and ways of working to improve efficiency within teams. 
  • Highly effective communication skills across all levels of an organization 
  • Proactive ability to learn and acquire domain knowledge to enhance skillset 
  • Ability to foster an inclusive and collaborative environment when working with teams, and skilled in building relationships and trust with a diverse group 
  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in computational sciences, applied mathematics, life sciences or other relevant field
