This LabWare Engineer role is accountable for contributing within a product team for the technical solution design, implementation & continuous improvement of GSCD&T systems in alignment with agile and DevOps principles, working closely with a Manager or Director of Engineering, Architect, Facilitator and Product Owner or Product Director.

The Engineer is a “T-Shaped” role demonstrating both depth and breadth across key engineer competencies e.g. Software Development, Configuration, Infrastructure, Testing, DevOps, Data Science/Analytics, Lifecycle Management, etc. and the ability to successfully collaborate with experts from other subject domains.

Key Responsibilities:

  • The continuous delivery of technology solutions from product roadmaps adopting agile and DevOps principles.
  • Ensures that technical delivery is fully compliant with GSK Security, Quality and Regulatory standards and keeps relevant technical documentation up to date in support of the lifecycle plan for audits/reviews
  • Ensures use of relevant GSCD&T central services and collaborating with service partners in identification and delivery of service improvements
  • Supports Product Owner and product team to deliver value continuously, fostering and maintaining close links with customers, related Solution groups e.g. Established Products, Core Tech,  Quality & Labs
  • Ensures continuity of business execution by providing operational support (Incident, Problem and Change management ) component currency, disaster recovery, and vulnerability management for relevant applications
  • Proactively develops and delivers continuous improvement/simplification of Product portfolio to enhance user productivity, increase system reliability and reduce the total cost of ownership
  • Contributes to release management, working closely with the Product Team members, software vendors and Business System Owners
  • Responsible for quality and compliance oversight, including interpreting regulatory requirements, providing consultation, documentation reviews and approvals
  • Providing support during regulatory authority inspection

     

Basic Qualifications:

  • Good communications and influencing skills
  • Knowledge of ITIL Support Processes
  • Experience of working closely with business on IT-enabled transformations
  • Problem Solving capabilities
  • Experience or trained in fronting auditor situations to ensure proper response to such situation.
  • Project Management
  • LIMS platform experience (Labware, StarLims, or Labvantage)
  • Power BI skills
  • Customer oriented mindset and Knowledge of GxP
  • Pharma/Biopharm/Vx QC processes (Chromatography, Lab Instrumentation) and experience working in a GMP regulated environment with understanding of computer validation and change control processes is highly desirable
