Summary:
We are seeking a skilled API and Microservices Test Engineer with experience in testing Java-based Microservices and APIs. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with Postman for API testing and knowledge of test management tools such as Zephyr. This role involves planning, executing, and automating test cases, and will require strong collaboration with teams in Spain and India. The role requires both manual and automated testing skills, with a preference for candidates experienced in Katalon Studio.
Roles & Responsibilities:
- API and Microservices Testing.
- Execute functional and non-functional tests for APIs using Postman, and manually perform microservices tests.
- Validate endpoints by putting parameters, hitting URLs, and analyzing responses.
- Compare actual results with expected outcomes to ensure functionality.
- Analyze functional and technical documentation to prepare comprehensive test cases.
- Design end-to-end test cases in collaboration with the team in Spain, considering client-specific requirements.
- Develop and maintain test scenarios and data, parameterize test data as needed.
- Automate at least 30% of the test cases using Katalon Studio or Selenium.
- Analyze test cases to determine the most efficient approach for automation.
- Write, maintain, and execute automated test scripts, focusing on improving test coverage and efficiency.
- Utilize Zephyr or other test management tools to manage test cases, execution, and defect tracking.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate testing into the development lifecycle.
- Monitor and report on test progress, coverage, and defect status.
- Work closely with the development team to understand new features and changes.
- Engage with the Spain-based team to ensure alignment on test designs and requirements.
- Coordinate with the India team to design and implement automated tests and review test results.
Professional & Technical Skills:
- Proven experience in testing Java-based Microservices and APIs.
- Proficiency with Postman for API testing, including creating and managing requests and analyzing responses.
- Hands-on experience with test management tools such as Zephyr.
- Experience with automation tools such as Katalon Studio (preferred) or Selenium.
- Ability to analyze functional and technical documentation to create effective test cases.
- Strong understanding of parameterization and data-driven testing techniques.
- Experience in designing and implementing automated test cases.
- Strong communication skills to work with teams across different locations.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with both technical and non-technical team members.
- Detail-oriented with a strong focus on quality and accuracy.
- Familiarity with both Selenium and Katalon, with a preference for Katalon.
- Experience with Katalon Studio for automated testing.
- Experience in a global team environment, working with distributed teams.
- Minimum of 2.5-3 years of experience in API and Microservices testing.
- The role involves working in a dynamic environment with teams located in multiple regions.
- The candidate must be comfortable using Postman and managing test cases with tools like Zephyr.
- The role may involve periodic collaboration with international teams in different time zones.
