Northrop Grumman Space Systems in Linthicum, MD is seeking a Principal or Senior Principal Systems Engineer to join our Payload Systems Engineering Team supporting Concept of Operation (CONOPS) development. This a fast paced environment where your knowledge and skills will be utilized to drive the development of state-of-the-art space based radar systems As a member of this team, you will work with industry leaders and Northrop Grumman experts supporting the development of to deliver key solutions to our customers. We cover a wide variety of expertise within the systems engineering domain. This includes mission engineering, requirements, architecture, modeling and simulation, integration and test, and verification and validation.
Primary Responsibilities:
As a member of the CONOPS team, you will support the development of a CONOPS document that describes a proposed system concept and how that concept would be operated in an intended environment. This role may include, but is not limited to, the following tasks:
Support activities to Identify key customers and stakeholders
Develop and document operational scenarios
Develop and document user needs
Define/ refine project goals and objectives
Develop and document concept of operations
Develop validation plan
This position can be staffed at a Principal or Sr. Principal level, based on the basic qualifications below. In addition, this position will be in Linthicum, MD.
These are the basic qualifications you must have to be considered:
Principal Engineer: Bachelor’s degree in STEM curriculum with 5 years relevant experience; 3 years with MS Degree; or PhD with 1 year of experience.
Sr Principal Engineer: Bachelor’s degree in STEM curriculum with 8 years relevant experience; 6 years with MS Degree; or PhD with 4 years of experience.
Must have an active U.S. Government DoD Top Secret security clearance a time of application, current and within scope, with the ability to obtain and maintain SCI approval/access.
Systems engineering experience (i.e. requirements, mission engineering, architecture, modeling and simulation, integration and test, verification, and validation)
Mission Planning or CONOP development experience
