ACCIONA is looking to hire a Site Safety Manager for EOS project, within the ACCIONA Netherlands division.

Mission:

Collaborate and provide support on projects carried out by his/her business unit/department, in keeping with the guidelines given by his/her supervisor, so that his/her work will enhance decision-making processes and processes involving the project’s execution and provide the internal client with added value through his/her professional performance.

This sub-function is responsible for all activities related with the safety and health of the company’s workers and the environmental issues. It´s duties include, recognition and assessment of risks of occupational accidents and illnesses, control of risks at the workplace or working facilities, training on risk prevention and dissemination of the importance of this prevention, recording of information and analysis of information, advising and technical support to the company’s employees.

Responsibilities:

• Perform the Audits, and other protocols scheduled required by Law.

• Be a SHE (Safety, Health & Environment) ambassador and coach, support and train project staff on positive SHE actions, behaviors and compliance.

• Manage the compliance of the SHE requirements on field.

• Participate in the revision and the verification of implementation of the Risk Assessments and the Method Statements for all the activities to be performed on site.

• Assist the Project and Construction Managers in SHE matters.

• Manage the SHE trainings onsite.

• Controlling the site SHE systems and have regular discussions on site about SHE performance with Site Managers, supervisors and the SHE Manager.

• Manage Client SHE concerns and expectations.

• Participate in the PtW (Permit to Work) assistance, revision, signature, implementation and closure, as well as training for issuers and receivers.

Participate in the daily TbT (Toolbox talk), by checking all the activities to be developed during the working day are safe and drafting the report to be signed for all the attenders.

• Verify the access control to the site is done according to the project requirements.

• Participate in the implementation of the SHE Plan and its modification (if required).

• Conduct regular assessments of construction sites and inform site management of unsafe practices and unsafe conditions. Stop activities if required and work in an alternative procedure that makes the activity safer.

• To participate in the site visits and the observations reports to be obtained from them.

• Participate in the developing of new SHE activities and initiatives propose by the SHE manager in order to improve the site performance.

• Support any Incident Investigations and ensure that all incident investigations are handled effectively in accordance with all relevant standards and Project requirements.

• Managing SHE Reports, SHE statistics and compiling Project SHE Report in accordance with Specifications.

• Keep and maintain the Safety File (EPC and subcontractors).

Academic Background

• Degrees-Certificates/Training: University Degree in Engineering is recommended but a Technical Degree plus the SHE required training could be enough.
• Strong knowledge about electrical and safety international standards such as EU OSHA, EN, IEC, OSHA, NFPA, NEC, ANSI, ISO, etc.

Languages and Required Level

• Proficiency in English (advance level). Spanish or Dutch language proficiency would be adding some extra points.

Additional Skills

• Strong knowledge about electrical and safety international standards such as EU OSHA, EN, IEC, OSHA, NFPA, NEC, ANSI, ISO, etc.
• More than 10 years of experience within the construction sector (electrical projects).
• High communicational and leadership level.
• Proficiency in English (advance level). Spanish or Dutch language proficiency would be adding some extra points.
