Job Description

The Role

China for China Gaming Team aims to dedicate and deliver a greater integrated gaming experience of Logitech G to the gamers in China. If you are passionate about gaming, it is your dream choice! 

As a key player of the China Gaming Engineering organization, you will lead the mechanical design and CMF development of Gaming headsets: Deeply understand the users’ needs, translate them into product and mechanical engineering specifications, map the technical main approaches, deploy to ME and CMF solutions, and deliver to mass production.

You will be responsible for an important addition to Logitech's global product portfolio, directly participating in building brands and new market segments from 0 to 1. You will also enjoy the agility and flexibility of a Chinese startup team while fully leveraging Logitech's top-tier global innovation laboratories and vast supply chain resources.

  • Develop new gaming headsets through feasibility study, mechanical design, risk analysis, and validation to ensure the project goal, cost, and schedule are met, even exceeded.  
    • Localized Ergonomic Adaptation: Conduct in-depth research on the specific head contours and extension data of local gamers. Design optimized headband and hinge structures to precisely control stress distribution, thoroughly solving the long-term wearing fatigue pain points for users with wider head shapes.
    • Extreme Durability & Anti-Vandalism Design: For commercial scenarios involving destructive pulling, high-frequency drops, and stain erosion, carry out DFM (Design for Manufacturing) and high-strength structural design; develop modular structure solutions that are easy to clean and have low maintenance costs.
    • CMF and Visual Execution: Based on brand strategy, define and implement product CMF specifications (such as high-recognition colors, special surface anti-staining treatment processes, and eco-friendly, durable packaging structures).
  • As a consultant, to provide mechanical engineering expertise in hardware specification, design, and issue investigation.
  • Communication and coordination with suppliers, internal and external customers to develop and refine the product mechanical design and development process, covering from defining product engineering specifications, design, prototyping, qualification, to mass production.
  • Partner and collaborate with other functions (PM, EE and so on) in the China Gaming team to achieve seamless product design and development

Key Qualifications

For consideration, you must bring the following minimum skills and behaviours to our team:

  • 8+ years of experience in mechanical design and development of headset products; Complete experience in structural development, mold follow-up, and mass production of headsets; Preference given to those with a complete project background from top-tier peripheral brands or well-known OEMs.
  • 3+ years of experience as a technical leader to define, plan, and monitor ME activities of technical or NPI projects; 

Desired Soft and Technical  Skills

  • Technical Skills: Deep understanding of Gaming headset ergonomics and clamping force control technology; proficient in mold processes for plastic/metal/silicone materials, acoustic material selection, and surface finishing processes.
    • Master skilled in problem-solving (8D, PDCA, DMICA ) and risk assessment (FMEA)
    • Geometrical tolerance knowledge
    • Tolerance analysis and statistical analysis. 
    • Knowledge in injection moulding or stamping, die casting, etc metal processing.
    • Master in CAD 
    • Plus as a master in CAE
  • Soft Skills: Possess an obsessive pursuit of wearing comfort and structural details, with strong ability to supervise on-site supply chain process implementation and drive yield improvement.
    • Always has the end-user experience in mind to drive technical and communication solutions 
    • Self-motivated, passionate, with a high energy level
    • Good communication in English, both oral and written 

Education

Bachelor's or Master's in Mechanical, Materials, or Manufacturing Engineering or equivalent.
