Position Summary:

Performs a variety of sanitation duties in different areas of the facility in accordance with accepted standards, regulations, and procedures. Some general building sanitation duties will also be required.

Knowledge / Skills / Abilities:

  • Adheres to food safety and safe work practices.

  • Cleans equipment if maintenance work needed during production time (Skinner, Ice Machine, etc).

  • Clean and sanitize all fish and lobster.

  • Clean and sanitize the shipping and receiving area. 

  • Clean and sanitize the specialty room and the equipment within it.

  • Maintain a shipping and receiving area free of debris.

  • Clean all the drains over the shipping and receiving area.

  • Performs daily cleaning tasks such as tuna racks, ice vats, utility carts, etc.

  • Perform any other duties as required.

Qualifications:

  • Basic knowledge of sweep, empty trash containers, reclean and re-sanitize all food processing equipment.

  • Available to lift and push trash containers and empty vats.

 

Physical Demands:

  • While performing the duties of this job, the associate is regularly required to talk or hear. The associate is frequently required to stand, walk, use hands and arms, and climb or balance. 

  • The associate is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.

  • The associate must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. 

  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

 

Working Conditions:

  • While performing the duties of this job, the associate is occasionally exposed to wet, hot, extreme cold and/or humid conditions while moving mechanical parts. 

  • The employee may work non-traditional business hours including evenings, nights, weekends and holidays. 

  • The employee may occasionally be required to travel as business needs dictate (i.e. training, business continuity, etc.).

  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
