About Job
Overview
We are looking for a hands-on Software Development Engineer to help build, improve, and sustain an enterprise-scale endpoint and configuration management platform used in large Windows environments. You will work closely with test teams during Test cycles to triage failures, investigate root cause, implement code fixes, and deliver validated patches with high engineering quality and operational reliability.
This is an execution-driven role: you will code, debug, review PRs, and ship improvements that directly impact test quality, release readiness, and customer reliability.
· Own incoming bugs discovered during Microsoft Test Pass / regression cycles: reproduce, isolate, debug, and propose fixes.
· Partner with Software Test teams to validate fixes and ensure test cases reflect real-world behavior (e.g., updating test coverage or documenting known constraints).
· Drive bugs to closure through solid engineering practices: clear issue write-ups, trace/log analysis, and PRs with unit/integration coverage where applicable.
· Support regression readiness by keeping bug backlog clean ahead of planned test passes (prioritize high-impact issues and reduce/prevent regression bugs).
· Well versed in using AI to accelerate root-cause and debugging activities.
· Develop and maintain core services/components related to client deployment, application management, compliance settings, and software updates in managed Windows environments.
· Improve reliability and performance of platform workflows through refactoring, instrumentation, and failure-mode hardening.
· Build internal tooling and small utilities that accelerate investigation, validation, and environment readiness (developer productivity focus).
· Automate repetitive workflows (provisioning, patching, monitoring, reporting) using PowerShell and engineering automation patterns.
· Contribute to CI/CD reliability for patch/build pipelines and reduce friction in delivery and approvals (developer-owned quality).
· Work with cross-functional partners (SDEs, QA, DevOps/Operations) to deliver stable, testable, supportable fixes.
· Participate in operational reviews: health checks, alert tuning, reporting hygiene, and documentation/runbooks to sustain platform quality.
· Bachelor's degree in computer science / software engineering (or equivalent practical experience).
· 3-5 years of hands-on experience in software engineering (coding + debugging + shipping).
· Strong Windows engineering fundamentals: Windows OS / Windows Server, and familiarity with enterprise identity & directory concepts (e.g., Active Directory) and data-store basics (e.g., SQL fundamentals). · Proficiency in scripting/automation, especially PowerShell.
· Experience with modern engineering practices: version control, code reviews, CI/CD, and working from bug backlogs.
· Experience with C# programming and MSSQL preferred. C++ would be nice to have but not required
· Experienced in AI and machine learning development, model training etc.
· Familiarity with hybrid or co-management scenarios and integrations with modern device management ecosystems. (Nice to have)
· Strong written + verbal communication (good bug narratives, crisp technical summaries).
· Practical problem-solving and persistence in debugging complex system interactions.
· Comfortable collaborating across dev & test, balancing urgency during test pass with engineering quality.
