Job Description
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES –
- Create innovative programs and strategies for customers to differentiate Medline in the marketplace, with a particular focus on understanding the complexities of the federal government medical distribution channels.
- Participate in overall product strategy and conceptual program development, ensuring alignment with government regulations and requirements to maximize revenue growth. Establish sales objectives by forecasting and developing annual sales for regions and territories; project expected sales volume and profit for both existing and new contract eligible products within federal government sectors.
- Grow the national sales revenue results by coaching and motivating the federal sales team, strategizing, monitoring, and appraising results, with a focus on capturing federal government contracts and expanding market share in the designated sector.
- Track sales team metrics, monitoring sales volume, product mix, and selling price by keeping current with supply and demand, changing trends, economic indicators, and competitors, particularly within federal government medical distribution.
- Participate in overall product strategy and conceptual program development, recognizing the unique demands of government clients.
MANAGEMENT RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
- Typically manages through multiple Managers within the federal government sector.
- Provide leadership and management to one or more major departments of an operating unit or to a department that has system-wide accountability in federal government contracts.
- Strategic, tactical, and operational planning (12+ months) for the function or department, with a focus on compliance with federal regulations and maximizing opportunities within government channels.
- Direct budgetary responsibility for one or more departments, functions, or major federal projects/programs.
- Interpret and execute policies for departments/projects; develop, recommend, and implement new policies or modifications to existing policies with consideration of federal guidelines.
- Hiring staff, recommending pay increases, performing performance reviews, training and development of staff, estimating personnel needs, assigning work, meeting completion dates, interpreting, and ensuring consistent application of organizational policies within the context of federal government standards.
EDUCATION
Typically requires a bachelor’s degree in a business-related field.
WORK EXPERIENCE
- A minimum of 15 years of experience in a leadership role, with at least 10 years preferably within the Federal Government.
- Demonstrated ability to execute marketing strategies and tactics.
- Ability to analyze market trends to effectively develop presentations, provide recommendations and business forecasting.
- Skill and ability presenting to senior management or C-suite with the purpose of influencing company or client decisions. Includes presenting and reporting on project plans and cost benefit analysis to appropriate stakeholders, executives and senior management.
- Demonstrated ability assessing and initiating actions independently. Experience taking charge of a situation, team or project.
- Time management skills such as prioritizing/organizing and tracking details and meeting deadlines of multiple projects with varying completion dates.
- Demonstrated ability working with cross-functional teams and facilitating teams to identify and implement solutions to complex problems.
- Position requires travel up to 50-60% of the time for business purposes (within state and out of state).
- Prior military medical logistics experience a plus.

The anticipated salary range for this position:
$152,880.00 - $229,320.00 Annual
The actual salary will vary based on applicant’s location, education, experience, skills, and abilities. This role is bonus and/or incentive eligible. Medline will not pay less than the applicable minimum wage or salary threshold.
