Registers and checks-in patients for services, collects co-pays, and schedules follow-up visits. Coordinates referrals to internal and external healthcare providers and is responsible for the PHP/IOP intake schedule. Enters data and charges into Electronic Medical Records. Communicates and collaborates with providers to support and enhance patient care. Serves as a resource and support to patients in the PHP/IOP.
Job Type: Limited hours (16 every two weeks)
Shift Length: 7:30am-4:00pm
Weekend Frequency: No weekends/holidays
Wage Range: $15.72-$23.21
Requirements:
- High school diploma/GED or higher education
Phone, Scheduling and Patient Registration
- Greets patients in a professional manner and completes all aspect of patient registration and check in/check out.
- Answers the phone promptly and courteously, responding appropriately to requests and dealing with crisis calls in a timely and professional manner. Accurately routes messages and assists callers in obtaining satisfactory responses to their requests.
- Responds to referral sources and manages the intake schedule in coordination with the PHP/IOP Clinical Manager.
Patient Care
- Assists patients in orienting to the physical environment, program expectations and daily schedule.
- Co-leads groups and classes as needed and reinforces skills taught in groups. Provides assistance and support to patients as questions, concerns and needs arise throughout the course of their time in the program.
- Coaches patients who are experiencing distress in skill utilization through modeling, joint practice and encouragement.
- Assists patients in daily program activities as needed such as ordering lunch, resuming group treatment promptly, making necessary calls for aftercare, etc.
Medical Records Maintenance and Upkeep
- Sends discharge summaries and other treatment documentation to aftercare providers and PCPs in accordance with HIPAA guidelines.
- Completes required documentation as needed.
- Ensures appropriate charges are captured and adjusts charge entry as participation of patients changes.
Functions as a Professional Member of the Multi-disciplinary Treatment Team
- Works collaboratively with team members and seeks and incorporates feedback.
- Attends and actively participates in team meetings.
- Coordinates with BHS staff throughout the department including 6W staff, ED/Floor MSWs, and OP BHS staff.
- Promotes healthy working relationships by giving/receiving open and direct feedback.
- Participates in staff education and meets mandatory departmental competencies.
