Reporting to the AVP, Accounting Operations, the Senior Associate, Accounting Operations is responsible for financial transactions related to monthly accounting operations. The position will be part of a team that maintains the general ledger to ensure effectiveness and accuracy of all accounting transactions.   

What You Will Do: 

  • Ensure all transactions are accurately recorded and processed in a timely manner. 
  • Address and resolve discrepancies or issues related to financial transactions. 
  • Maintain the general ledger, ensuring all financial transactions are recorded accurately and promptly. 
  • Assist in the preparation and posting of journal entries, including month-end and year-end closing entries. 
  • Conduct regular reviews and reconciliations of general ledger accounts to ensure accuracy and completeness. 
  • Perform detailed account reconciliations for various balance sheet accounts, including bank reconciliations. Assist the offshore team with any reconciliation related inquiries as they assist in the overall monthly and quarterly account reconciliations. 
  • Investigate and resolve discrepancies identified during reconciliations. 
  • Ensure reconciliations are completed in accordance with established timelines and procedures. 
  • Assist in the preparation of financial reports, including monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements. 
  • Support the preparation of management reports and analysis to aid in decision-making. 
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls, accounting policies, and regulatory requirements. 
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements within accounting operations to enhance efficiency and accuracy. 
  • Assist in the implementation of new accounting systems, processes, and procedures. 
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline workflows and improve operational effectiveness. 
  • Ensure adherence to internal controls and compliance with accounting standards and regulations. 
  • Assist in the preparation of documentation and schedules for internal and external audits. 
  • Support the implementation of audit recommendations and address any findings. 
  • Work closely with other members of the accounting team to ensure coordinated and efficient operations. 
  • Provide guidance and support to junior team members as needed. 
  • Participate in team meetings and contribute to the continuous improvement of accounting operations. 
  • Participate in special projects and initiatives as assigned by the Accounting Operations Manager or Director. 
  • Provide support for ad hoc financial analyses and reporting as required. 

 

What You Will Have: 

  • University degree in Accounting or Finance  
  • Internationally recognized accounting designation (CPA, CA) is preferred  
  • A Minimum of 2 years of relevant post-qualification experience within re/insurance is preferred  
  • Possess strategic and analytical problem-solving skills  
  • Ability to work at a fast pace and/or handle shifting priorities  
  • Be detail oriented and highly organized 
  • Possess strong communication and analytical skills  
  • Highly motivated and results-oriented 
  • Proven ability to work independently  
  • Very strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communications skills to clearly articulate sophisticated concepts, ideas, and processes

The base salary range for this role is listed below and will be commensurate with candidate experience. Pay ranges for candidates may differ based on the cost of labor in that location. In addition to base salary, all employees are eligible for an annual bonus based on company and individual performance as well as a generous benefits package.  

Base Salary Range
$87,000$105,000 USD
