Role Description

The Promoter is primarily responsible for finding and booking Artists for individual gigs, concerts festivals and tours. The effectiveness of the promoter will be measured by them successfully and consistently securing appropriate talent for the festivals, tours and individual concerts they work across leading to these events achieving operational profitability.

  • Proven experience in a similar role e.g. working as a promoter, with an agency, management etc. 
  • Candidates with links to the US comedy market would be particularly relevant to this vacancy.
  • Excellent time management skills.
  • Organised, with a high level of attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication (written and verbal), inter-personal skills.
  • Competency with numerical data.
  • Exceptional problem solving ability.
  • Excellent team building skills to include immediate team members, internal departments and clients alike.

What the role includes

Strategy and Business Direction

  • To contribute to the promoter team though building a rounded touring roster, and working on outdoor events that sit within the team.
  • To assist in the future strategy of the team including international touring development.
  • To contribute to the profitable operation of Live Nation and ensuring that such business is undertaken in accordance with company policy.  

Operational Planning and Control

  • Secure the booking of artists for Live Nation.
  • Develop relations with artists, their managers and their agents.
  • Working with the agreed framework and controls when budgeting and producing artists’ offers, ensuring transparency and that best value has been secured for Live Nation. 
  • Carry out continuous research as to musical trends and developing artists.
  • Working with the artist managers and agents to develop an artists career to ensure future success of the artist
  • Develop band databases, then utilising this information to secure relevant supports for headline bands and local band showcases. Regularly monitor the potential of artists to promoter team.
  • Ensure all relevant parties (artist / agent / venue staff) have all relevant information to placate and to ensure smooth running of concerts and events. 
  • Ensure accurate, regular and prompt reporting / keeping of figures involved in their work, to be presented to key personnel as and when required.
  • To ensure that a monthly ‘rolling’ event promotion report is produced (highlighting those events that may underperform.
  • Setting budgets. 
  • Oversee booking strategy to maximise concerts and events.
  • Provide information to enable the reviewing of systems for suitability and potential upgrading.
  • Working with other senior promoters to create new outdoor IP’s.

Accountability

  • Successfully and consistently achieving operational profitability and artist/event development.
