Micron is seeking an elite leader for the Senior Vice President, Worldwide Sales role, reporting directly to the CEO. This individual will lead a commercial go-to-market organization. He/she will be responsible for global sales and revenue at Micron and lead the company’s efforts to foster innovative sales approaches that broaden Micron’s business opportunities and enhance customer relationships worldwide. The role will be based in San Jose, CA.

The Senior Vice President, Worldwide Sales will work closely with the CEO, Chief Business Officer (CBO) and business unit leaders to ensure that the sales organization becomes multi-faceted in its approach to the market. He/she will define and implement a strategic sales plan that will support the company’s growth strategy and lead and enable the sales force to grow Micron’s market share, revenues, profits, and company value.

The Senior Vice President, Worldwide Sales will be a hands-on member of the executive team. He/she will be directly responsible for the global customer-facing sales organization and will work closely with the CBO and the business unit leaders to ensure that targeted business performance is achieved and exceeded. He/she will also be required to demonstrate expertise in sales and to further develop partner and customer relationships.

Responsibilities

  • Responsibility for revenue growth, achieving targeted market share at a worldwide, segment and customer level while maximizing pricing.
  • Grow Micron’s share in high value applications that require more strategic roadmap alignment with marquee customers such as Cloud Service Providers, Leading semiconductor system providers and PC/Phone/Automotive OEMs.
  • Strengthen relationships with key customers around the world and develop new customers and relationships that enable our strategy for increased customer partnerships. Broaden customer relationships beyond procurement, into the business and engineering organizations by partnering with Micron’s business units, engineering, and operations teams.
  • Drive robust Key account planning process including near term, medium term and long-term strategic objectives and relationship mapping.
  • Oversight and accountability for the sales organization across all sales channels, supporting each region. Strategic, operational and people leadership of the Sales organization.
  • Provide overall operational sales direction to both Micron and leadership of the sales organization as well as to the company to achieve superior levels of performance measured by effectively partnering with business units and use of robust go-to-market and sales operations systems and processes.
  • Establish and help nurture strong CEO, CTO, COO, CBO level relationships with our customers
  • Drive a strong partnership (at all levels) with Supply Chain and Operations organization at Micron to ensure customer delivery, quality and sustainability objectives are communicated and managed in a best-in-class manner
  • Define commercial goals in target segments; lead a global go-to-market execution plan; marshal resources; develop sales objectives; and manage budgets to meet or exceed the key sales goals.
  • Lead and drive pricing optimization efforts, including driving value-based pricing initiatives to capture the growing value of Micron products within the near and longer-term horizons.
  • Incorporate tools and technology, such as AI, that enable the organization to quickly scale, improve efficiency and create new insights that enable better business results.
  • Provide leadership, recruiting and professional management of the sales organization. He/she will attract, develop, and retain the best possible sales team with the objective of building a world-class organization with strong succession planning for all key roles.
  • Work with the business unit leaders; maintain oversight of all strategic and day-to-day commercial activities of the company, with an emphasis on growing the company’s brand awareness, market share, customer intimacy, and revenue base.

IDEAL EXPERIENCE

Domain:

Experience in the semiconductor memory and storage industry is strongly preferred. Open to candidates from the enterprise systems industry with a strong foundation/experience in the semiconductor industry.

Customers:

Must have existing relationships with senior executives at most of the key worldwide customers in the server/enterprise, PC, and smartphone markets.

Scale:

Track record of significant revenue growth for an organization of at least $8 billion in revenue.

Go-To-Market Motion

Ideally, he/she has had experience leading in both component and solution selling environments. Understands what is needed to be a strong ecosystem solutions provider versus selling only components.

Global Leadership:

10 or more years of commercial leadership experience, with 5 years minimum in executive leadership role, including leadership of a global sales organization, preferably in the technology hardware space. Ideally has previous experience working with multinational teams; strong international experience required, especially China.

Transformation:

Proven experience evolving a commercial organization to become a world-class team that consistently delivers above-plan results and grows market share in targeted areas.

The US base salary range that Micron Technology estimates it could pay for this full-time position is:

$583,000.00 - $880,000.00

Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location.  The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries of the position across all US locations.  Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional job-related factors, including knowledge, skills, experience, tenure and relevant education or training.  The pay scale is subject to change depending on business needs.  Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for your preferred location during the hiring process. Additional compensation may include benefits, discretionary bonuses and equity.
