A Lot About You

As a US Commerce Recommendation Engine team member, you will work on novel machine learning technologies, real-life web-scale challenges, unique e-commerce domains, and complex challenges with top-notch engineers. You have access to internet-scale amounts of data and powerful cloud computing clusters that consist of thousands of computing nodes. What you do will meaningfully contribute to the bigger success of the company.

We seek research engineers with solid coding, machine learning, and information retrieval skills. You will code in Python/Java/Scala on the Unix platform to build recommender applications that handle a massive scale of data within milliseconds.

Minimum Qualifications

  • BS/MS in Computer Science (with good academic records for NCG) or related field with a good understanding of the fundamentals such as Data Structures and Algorithms.

  • Experience in machine learning and recommender systems. 

  • Good coding skills and experience in OOP. Python/Java/Scala preferred.

  • Good communication and collaboration skills to work with people from various technical backgrounds and geographical locations. Enjoys helping people, remains friendly and constructive under stress.

Preferable Job Qualifications

  • Project R&D skills in the industrial environment.

  • Proven track record of technical strength, including responsibility for design or architecture.

  • Experience in modern development methodologies like CI/CD and Agile developing.

  • Experience in cloud technologies, such as Hadoop, Spark, HBase, Storm, and AWS services.

  • Experience with using large language models in a production context.
