This downtown Stuart hospital provides top-quality patient care to the communities in and around Martin County on the beautiful Indian River. The caregivers at Martin North Hospital have made it an excellent medical facility and a home away from home.   


Medical/Surgical & Telemetry Units provide care to patients with medical and surgical diagnoses who may require telemetry monitoring. You will be part of a supportive caregiver family that will be united in shared values and purpose to fulfill our promise of being the best place to receive care and the best place to work in healthcare. 


A caregiver in this position works Nights, from 7:00pm—7:00am.  


A caregiver who excels in this role will:  

  • Provide direct nursing care in accordance with established healthcare organization policies, procedures, and protocols. Implements and monitors patient care plans. 

  • Monitor, record, and communicate patient condition as appropriate. 

  • Monitor and document patient's condition and effectiveness and timeliness of care and/or interventions. 

  • Evaluate, update and revise plan of care to facilitate achievement of planned and expected outcomes. 

  • Serve as a primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care. 

  • Administer prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with approved nursing protocol. 

  • Assess and coordinates patient's discharge planning needs with members of the healthcare team. 

  • Assess educational needs of the patient and significant others considering cultural issues and other special concerns. 

 

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:  

  • Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing. 

  • Critical Care Course or validated OJT for critical care settings. 

  • Current state licensure as Registered Nurse (RN). 

  • Proof of Basic Life Support (BLS) through American Heart Association (AHA) must be presented upon hire. 

  • One year of current acute care RN experience in a hospital setting required for acute care settings. 

 

Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:  

  • BSN (Bachelor of Science in Nursing).

Physical Requirements:

  • Requires full range of body motion including handling and lifting patient, manual and finger dexterity, and eye-hand coordination.

  • Requires standing and walking for extended periods of time.

  • Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range.

  • Requires working under stressful conditions and irregular hours.

  • Exposure to communicable diseases and/or body fluids.

  • Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.

  • Physical Demand requirements are in excess of those for Light Work.

Personal Protective Equipment:

  • Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
