HTH seeks a Staff Accountant to provide critical accounting and analytical support.
JOB SUMMARY
The Accountant will support staff across High Tech High’s regional office and schools. The Accountant is accountable for helping to plan and to execute process improvement strategies, upholding compliance with regulatory and locally-created processes and procedures, and providing a high level of customer service to staff and external parties. Work consists of both routine and non-routine administrative accounting work performed using general procedures and processes.
Duties include:
● Perform accurate and timely data entry for accounting transactions, journals, and supporting schedules.
● Provide heavy support for Accounts Payable, including invoice intake, coding, verification of supporting documentation, and entry into the financial system.
● Assist in processing vendor invoices, credit memos, and payment requests in accordance with organizational policies and audit requirements.
● Assist with monitoring and responding to various email inboxes, ensuring clear communication, timely follow-up, and customer service-oriented support to schools, vendors, and internal stakeholders.
● Support monthly credit card processes, including transaction review, documentation collection, coding assistance, reconciliation, and follow-up with cardholders.
● Assist with vendor setup, W-9 collection, and maintenance of accurate vendor records.
● Coordinate and manage supply ordering for Business Office.
● Support staff across all Business Office functions, including AP, AR, purchasing, and financial compliance duties as assigned.
● Maintain organized digital to ensure audit-ready documentation and adherence to internal controls.
● Assist in coordinating with school leaders and internal teams to resolve discrepancies, answer questions, and ensure timely processing of financial information.
● Provide general administrative and accounting support to the Business Office, including special projects, data clean-up, and reporting tasks as needed.
● Other projects as assigned.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
● Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or related field preferred
● One more more years of accounting experience, preferably in a school or nonprofit organization
● General Ledger experience required
