Job Summary:

The Truck Driver will support the department in it’s operation through the movement of donated goods and other merchandise with company vehicles.

Job Description

Essential Functions

  • Drive trucks and other vehicles as needed to and from ADC sites, the plant and store locations.
  • Keep vehicle’s cab clean at all times.
  • Provide guidance and leadership to driver helpers and/or dock workers.
  • Follow all rules and regulations of the road including local, state, and federal laws.
  • Complete driver pre-trip sheet and other reports as required.
  • Load and unload trucks as needed.
  • Provide prompt feedback to supervisor on any obstacles, concerns, or violations of company policies.
  • Respond to all customer requests with courtesy and friendliness, and in a responsible manner by giving detailed, factual information. 
  • Estimate a completion time for work requested. 
  • Provide backup forklift operation and dock supervision as needed.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
  • Be knowledgeable of and comply with all company policies and procedures, as well as legal requirements, at all times.
  • Regular, reliable attendance, as defined in Goodwill’s attendance policy.

Minimum Qualifications

Required Skills:

Education

  • Minimum of high school diploma or GED equivalent is required.

Experience

  • Two (2) year of previous driving experience is required.

Knowledge and Skills

  • Able to comply with the Department of Transportation requirements and possess a clean Motor Vehicle Report and ability to pass a D.O.T. physical.
  • Able to be dependable and conscientious.
  • Able to promote cooperation and a team environment within the department.
  • Able to maintain strict confidentiality of records of persons served and supervised at all times.
  • Able to push or pull loads weighing over 50 pounds continuously.
  • Communicate effectively and interact with persons of various backgrounds and experiences.
  • Function independently within the realms of established policies and guidelines.
  • Possess strong organizational skills and able to establish priorities.

Certifications and Licenses

  • CDL class A is required.
