The Aeronautics Systems sector is seeking a Supply Chain Logistics Specialist (Level 1 or Level 2) to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position is located in Palmdale, CA.

Job Summary:

Responsible for the receipt, delivery and inspection of incoming material, central stores/warehousing of program and/or company-acquired material and packaging and shipping services. Provides packaging engineering support, special container design, packaging estimates and format quotes. Ensures the retention of material and supplies for future use and in support of production and/or engineering. Responsible for the accountability and accuracy of physical records. Provides transportation of material and correspondence within the local Northrop Grumman business environment. Maintains functional records in support of internal and external audits to ensure compliance with established policies and procedures. Manages, develops or carries out delivery in accordance with local established business policies, procedures and public law. Ensures accuracy of delivery information. Ensures: finished goods inventories, non-proprietary government property inventory, transportation, import/export requirements, and customer returns in conjunction with business area personnel.

The candidate will be required to perform a combination of manual and clerical traffic duties. Will be required to use computer system for tracking, logging, verifying and reporting. Follow shipping practices and procedures, along with transportation routing and schedule requirements. Prepares documentation for shipment. Verify quantity, weight, log receipt of items on system, process freight bills, packing sheets, and other documents; report materials shipped and bills of lading; posts weight and shipping charges and route merchandise to destinations.

Primary Duties:

  • Prepare and tender SOFO-10 for multiple programs and classified programs

  • Submit DD250’S to WAWF, and tender shipment utilizing DTMS, ITMS, and FedEx online application.

  • Print approved DD250 and pair with original to be shipped after they are signed off by DCMA.

  • Coordinate dedicated truck shipments as requested by various program in addition to classified shipments

  • Responds to client needs by answering e-mails, calls, tracking and moving shipments

  • Monitors and ensures on-time pick-up and delivery

  • Support Receiving on any international Parts that require special handling

  • Provide support to import on uploading documents to the file repository

  • Researches and resolves customer or supplier issues

  • The ideal candidate will have strong customer service & problem-solving skills

  • Other duties as required and assigned

  • Update training documents

  • Scan work to remote teammates

  • Print / match up documents for outbound shipments from remote employees

  • Obtain required system access for SOW

Basic Qualifications - Associate Supply Chain Logistics Specialist (Level 1):

  • Bachelor's degree with 0 years of experience, or a High School diploma/equivalent with 4 years of experience in Logistics

  • Experience with Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint

  • Ability to obtain and maintain required certifications related to hazardous material handling and disposal

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government DoD Security Clearance at the Secret level

  • Ability to travel at least 10%

  • Ability to work 1st shift and any work schedule

Basic Qualifications - Supply Chain Logistics Specialist (Level 2):

  • Bachelor's degree with 2 years of experience, a Master’s degree with 0 years of experience or a High School diploma/equivalent with 6 years of experience in Logistics

  • Experience with Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint

  • Ability to obtain and maintain required certifications related to hazardous material handling and disposal

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government DoD Security Clearance at the Secret level

  • Ability to travel at least 10%

  • Ability to work 1st shift and any work schedule

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Aerospace & Defense experience

  • Current DoD Secret Clearance

  • Experience with the use of Transportation Management Systems (TMS) applications

  • Experience with creating small parcel shipping labels and bill of ladings (BOL)

  • Current Hazardous material Certification (i.e., IATA or HazMat Certification)

  • Knowledge understanding of logistic elements; supportability, inventory management and logistics support

  • Advanced experience with MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint

Salary Range: $55,600.00 - $83,400.00Salary Range 2: $67,100.00 - $100,700.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
