Global Lending Operations (GLO) serves as the foundation of Citi Loan Servicing, specializing in the execution of loan closings, servicing, and compliance. This team ensures meticulous management of the loan portfolio from initiation through maturity, reinforcing the bank’s commitment to delivering customized financial solutions to clients. The Lending Ops Group is instrumental in upholding Citi's reputation for reliability and financial integrity.
The Safety and Soundness utility team is responsible for the bank’s financial stability and regulatory compliance through identifying and managing risk(s), implementing effective internal controls, testing to analyze the limits of the organization’s capabilities and providing reports to ensure Citi’s compliance with regulatory expectations. The utility team requires collaboration with all business units across the organization to ensure the highest level of industry practices are employed.
The Safety & Soundness team is responsible for managing, supporting, and supervising regulatory, risk, and control processes across Commercial Lending Operations, partnering with key stakeholders in Lending Operations, Risk & Control, Finance, 2nd and 3rd Lines of Defense. This utility team will participate in the on-going design, self-assessment, implementation, and enhancement of the supervisory and control framework required ‘on the ground’ in Lending Operations to deliver both current and future state success. This includes matters including but not limited to management of issues including Corrective Action Plans and monitoring emerging risk trends and controls oversight. Additional responsibilities include initiatives on data analytics, proactive identification of emerging trends by utilizing data, and supporting the operation in identifying solutions that can improve client delivery.
Expectation is for individuals to be accountable, results oriented and uphold high ethical standard to build and maintain credible and trustworthy relationships with stakeholders.
Responsibilities:
· Lead and execute the day-to-day activities of the team, which include monitoring the implementation of supervisory plans and control frameworks, ensuring compliance to established regulations, policies, and standards. In addition, lead the management of OREs through their lifecycle.
· Manage the ongoing design, self-assessment, implementation, and enhancement of supervisory and control frameworks, ensuring robust oversight and control
· Maintain a strong working relationship with business partners across all the lines of defense to ensure smooth resolution of any requests, inquiries, issues around safety and soundness processes
· Directly impact the safety and soundness team by collaboratively ensuring the successful delivery and execution of key safety and soundness procedures and processes from start to finish
· Facilitate and oversee the integration of controls into ongoing transformation efforts within Global Lending Operations
· Analyze safety and soundness processes data to identify trends, issues and opportunities for improvements and provide strategic insights and actions
· Develop and implement strategic plans which include new processes and best practices to improve safety and soundness process operations, and achieve departmental goals
· Provide guidance, support and mentorship to the team members, fostering a collaborative and high-performance environment
· Tracks and ensures the team meets the KPI & SLA related to safety and soundness
· Assess the validity and effectiveness of proposed Activity, Risk, Control and Monitoring (ARCM's)

Qualifications:
· Minimum 6 years of experience in banking or finance, with significant expertise in managing high-risk processes syndicated loans
· Expert LIQ knowledge and experience preferred
· Expert knowledge of Business Processes, Systems and Tools used in the Loan Process
· Demonstrate deep understanding of financial markets and regulatory compliance related to loan high-risk processes
· Awareness of risk types, policies and control measures and processes
· Comply with applicable laws, rules, and regulations, and adhering to Policies
· Comprehensive insight into managing, preparing, and reviewing loan documentation
· Extensive experience with identifying, mitigating, managing, resolving, and escalating risks and issues
· Proficiency with financial software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel
Education:
· Bachelor’s/University degree, Master’s degree preferred
