Job Description

Supply Chain Team Internship – Job Specification Site based role at Thermo Fisher Scientific Cork, Currabinny, Carrigaline Cork. The role will work in the Supply Chain Team. The intent would be for the student to partake in both day-to-day activities and work on some key improvement areas. The student will work in a team environment as a fully inducted Team member and have responsibilities commensurate with their course and experience. Key areas of work are as follows: SUPPLY CHAIN • Material Operations o Work as part of the warehouse team to see how incoming materials are planned and inbounded on to the site. o Understand how storage capacity versus demand is forecasted and gaps addressed. o Work to understand how material is dispatched from the site and the regulatory / compliance requirement for shipments of pharmaceuticals. o Understand how the invoice/payment process work once material is dispatched. • SAP data management o Understand the criticality of data in a business information system. o Understand how both Master, static and dynamic data is managed so all data remains accurate and functions as an advantageous business tool. We hope through these areas the student will gain significant experience in the practices of good Supply Chain Management but also learn how those practices link to the wider business.
