FLSA STATUS:                    Part-time/Hourly/Non-Exempt

The Concessions Cashier is responsible for operating the concession stand in accordance with ASM’s policies and procedures and is responsible for providing a quality product to patrons in a courteous, friendly, and efficient manner and providing Responsible Alcohol Service in all transactions.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Follows assignments for opening procedures and food preparation.
  • Operates the point-of-sale system and accepts payments by cash and card.
  • Abide by and maintain accurate cash handling/control procedures at all times.
  • Follow RAMP guidelines and check the IDs of any customer ordering alcohol.
  • Is cost conscious, does not over-portion and records all spoilage.
  • Inventory: completes inventory stand sheets for food, drinks, paper products, and other items as assigned each shift.
  • Prepares food and beverage items using proper procedures and sanitation guidelines.
  • Serve food and beverage quickly in proper portions and in a courteous manner.
  • Keeps work area and equipment neat and clean.
  • Properly cleans equipment/stand and follows the closing instructions.
  • Other duties may be assigned.

Education and/or Experience:        

  • Previous cashier and food experience preferred.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age and able to pass a background/credit check.
  • High School Diploma or GED preferred.
  • Must complete RAMP certification.
  • Bartending experience a plus.
  • Must be available to work nights, weekends, and some holidays according to event schedule.
  • Work hours are casual, seasonal, and non-guaranteed. 

Skills and Abilities:

  • Be fast and efficient in service.
  • Ability to complete required pre-employment food and alcohol service training.
  • Effective communication skills: greet guests in a friendly manner and be professional at all times.
  • Ability to communicate with coworkers and work effectively with others.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment. 

Physical Demands:

  • Ability to stand and remain stationary for entire length of shift.
  • Constant walking, bending, reaching and repetitive motions.
  • Ability to perform normal lifting of stock, up to 50 pounds.
