Their primary purpose is to provide independent and objective assurance of the effectiveness of the Groups risk management, controls, and governance processes.

The Chief Operating Office plays a critical role in ensuring that GA&A deliver leading audit practices by driving operational excellence and adoption of innovative audit techniques that maintain a high quality, fit for purpose audit methodology. It also plays a pivotal role in owning and operating Financial Services (FS) Business Unit’s Diverse Talent Program.
 

Your impact

In this role, you will take ownership of a range of operational risk and compliance activities, including:

• Managing divisional risk processes such as Division’s Regulatory Change Management Process, Data Loss Prevention and User Behaviour Analytics alerts
• Overseeing Conflict of Interest and Declaration of Independence processes specific to internal audit
• Leading incident and issue management activities
• Delivering control assurance activities including CAP testing, Risk Control Self‑Assessments and Compliance Self‑Assessments
• Coordinating annual processes including prudential attestations and business continuity planning
• Supporting change risk management across the division
• Preparing monthly risk reporting and delivering clear risk and compliance communications
• Representing GA&A in risk, compliance and data breach forums

• Experience in operational risk management and compliance within complex, regulated environments
• Strong understanding of risk and control frameworks, including technology and cyber risk
• Proven ability to own and deliver processes end‑to‑end with minimal supervision
• Confidence engaging with senior stakeholders and influencing outcomes
• A practical, delivery‑focused mindset with the ability to work through ambiguity and competing priorities
• A collaborative approach, balanced with the ability to work autonomously
