The Nurse Navigator plays a crucial role in coordinating and facilitating comprehensive care for oncology patients alongside a team of providers, patient access services, and nuclear medicine technologists. The Nurse Navigator utilizes knowledge and experience to care for the patient as a whole and provide support to patients throughout treatment.

Duties and Responsibilities, including but not limited to:

  • Work as a team to maintain exceptional patient experience.

  • Regularly and effectively communicate with care team and patients regarding patient care and tasks, both verbally and through EMR.

  • Oversight of patient care regarding radioligand therapy administration.

  • Coordinate patient care including scheduling appointments, chart prep, triaging phone calls, patient education, and lab draws.

  • Document in the EMR in an accurate and timely manner.

  • Technical skills such as phlebotomy, IV starts, vitals, and ECG’s.

  • Coordination with the clinical trials team to assist in therapy and management of clinical trial subjects (phase I-IV)

  • Assist with quality improvement measures.

  • Protect patient’s rights by maintaining confidentiality of information per HIPAA guidelines.

  • Follow safety standards as defined by OSHA and the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC).

Basic Qualifications:

  • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) required

  • 1 year of nursing experience required

  • Licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the State of Michigan required

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification required

  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Certification required

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

  • 1 year of oncology experience preferred

  • 3 years of nursing experience preferred

Schedule Details:

  • Employment Status: Full time (1.0 FTE)

  • Weekly Scheduled Hours: 40

  • Hours of work: Hours vary between 7:30 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., with 8-hour shifts.

  • Days worked: Monday to Friday
