Position Summary

This is an exciting opportunity for a candidate interested in Alzheimer’s disease research to join the lab of Drs. Anil Cashikar and Steven Paul. Appointments will be made based on qualifications and experience.

Our lab is located in the newly built James T Fort Neuroscience Research Building. We are primarily interested in understanding how cholesterol metabolism intersects with neuroinflammation. Our recently published papers suggest the identification of a novel therapeutic target for Alzheimer’s disease (AD). Work in the lab includes developing biochemical, cell biological and mouse-based assays for drug discovery. Strong background is preferred in enzymology and protein biochemistry, glial lipid metabolism or mouse models of AD pathology. Strong motivation to do scientific research to answer complex problems is highly desirable for this position.

In order to achieve these objectives, candidates are expected to align with the school's mission of promoting inclusive excellence. They should be prepared to further this objective within Washington University and collaborate with diverse communities of students, faculty, staff, trainees, and patients.
