Role Summary:

We are seeking an exceptional Propulsion Engineer to help us build next generation defense systems. You'll be a key player in developing innovative propulsion solutions that redefine the boundaries of technology and engineering. Your role will be crucial in the conception, development, and integration of advanced propulsion systems that are at the core of our disruptive technologies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Concept Development:
    Innovate and design propulsion solutions, laying the foundation for groundbreaking applications in the defense industry.

  • Design and Modeling:
    Use simulation tools to model propulsion mechanics, thermodynamics, and fluid dynamics to validate designs and optimize performance.

  • Integration:
    Collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams to integrate propulsion systems into the larger product framework.

  • Prototyping:
    Oversee the fabrication and testing of propulsion system prototypes, iterating for maximum efficiency and safety.

  • Performance Analysis:
    Conduct rigorous testing and data analysis to evaluate system performance against benchmarks and specifications.

  • Optimization:
    Iterate and refine designs to maximize efficiency, reliability, and meet safety standards.

  • Manufacturing Support:
    Work closely with the manufacturing team to translate designs into scalable production processes.

  • Documentation:
    Create comprehensive design documentation, ensuring that all aspects of the propulsion system are well understood and replicable.

  • Compliance:
    Ensure all designs and procedures comply with industry and governmental standards and regulations.

  • Technology Scouting:
    Stay updated with the latest advances in propulsion technology, integrating new findings into ongoing projects where applicable.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field with 7+ years of experience in Propulsion/Aerospace Engineering.

  • Deep domain expertise of mechanical engineering, propulsion analysis, or propulsion design or testing.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • A proven track record of innovation in the field of propulsion.

  • Experience in a startup or fast-paced development environment.

Ideal Candidate:

An innovative thinker with deep technical expertise in propulsion systems, capable of working in a fast-paced startup environment. Must possess strong problem-solving skills and a passion for pushing the envelope in propulsion technologies.

The salary range for this role is an estimate based on a wide range of compensation factors, inclusive of base salary only. Actual salary offers may vary based on (but not limited to) work experience, education and training, critical skills, and business considerations. Highly competitive equity grants are included in most offers and are considered part of Mach’s total compensation package.
