Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
Provide server support and management for department and faculty research groups. Design, install, configure, trouble-shoot and provide maintenance of system hardware, software, and components. Ensure systems conform with IT security requirements. Interact with faculty to develop requirements for new/replacement systems. Develop technical solutions that are thorough and consistent with the departments’ objectives in response to a wide range of technical issues.
Provide technical assistance. Answer questions or resolve computer problems for faculty and staff in person, via telephone or from a remote location. Provide assistance concerning the use of computer hardware and software, including printing, installation, word processing, electronic mail, and operating systems. Install and perform repairs to hardware/software and peripheral equipment.
Acts as an interface between department users and WashU IT and A&S computing. Responds to campus security notifications. Keep abreast of current trends in server and network development.
Perform other duties as assigned.
