Design Responsibilities:
Accountable for defining all equipment necessary for the customer's needs.
Defines technical documents based on the customer's specifications.
Supervises and coordinates designers, draftsmen, design subcontractors, and partners to carry out secondary studies.
Monitors design part in his field of competence, including low voltage installation, digital and conventional control systems.
Design Inputs:
Collects and establishes necessary input data for LV design.
Ensures tracking of modifications of those inputs during realization stages.
Control of LV Design:
Plans and measures design progress, checks for technical documents produced by designers, design subcontractors, and partners.
Undertakes necessary corrective actions to ensure milestones are enforced and studies comply with contractual specifications.
Records deviations between contractual specifications and requests of the customer or partners, Submits relevant design modification forms to the project manager for approval.
Records design non-conformances and submits them to the project manager.
Writes and checks answers to technical comments from the customer/consultant.
Checks building services interfaces with concerned specialists.
Establishment of Basic Design/Principle Phase:
Actively involved in establishing basic design drawings in collaboration with designers and in compliance with contractual specifications.
Supply of Equipment:
Establishes technical specifications for LV equipment supplied by internal partners and external suppliers in line with the project strategy defined by the project manager.
Analyzes technical proposals received.
Takes part in technical clarifications with equipment suppliers by supporting the sourcing department.
Establishes with the support of designers the bill of quantities for LV equipment and the technical specifications regarding necessary erection tools.
Supervises and challenges designers, draftsmen, design subcontractors, or suppliers working on LV and auxiliary services studies and ensures coherence and optimization of proposed solutions.
Provides project manager with technical support, especially in face of the customer.
Factory Acceptance Tests:
Involved in factory acceptance tests and reception of HV equipment in accordance with the project time schedule and in compliance with contractual technical specifications.
Performance measurement
Meet LV design budgets for the assigned projects
Successfully manage and coordinate design subcontractors and designers
Ensure timely completion of LV design activities according to project milestones
Ensure compliance with contractual specifications and standards
Effectively communicate and collaborate with project stakeholders, including customers and partners.
Desired profile:
A degree in Electrical Engineering or an equivalent field.
Strong knowledge of electrical installations, including control and protection systems, LV System.
Knowledge of the HV products to be installed in transmission substations.
Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Leadership skills with the ability to manage a design team, supervise and coordinate the works of designers, draftsmen, design services providers, design subcontractors and partners
Fluent in English.
Good business understanding with knowledge of turnkey project development and interfaces.
Experience
At least 5 years of experience in High Voltage (HV) Transmission Substation activities.
Experience in LV design and control and protection systems, you are able to manage, modify a single line and a Schematic diagram
Experience in managing a design team.
Experience with turnkey project development and interfaces.
Experience with products to be installed in transmission substations.
Experience in supervising and coordinating the works of designers, draftsmen, design services providers, design subcontractors and partners, in order to carry out the secondary studies in compliance with cost and time constraints.
