Promotes Bereavement Support Programs and Brand Awareness through public speaking engagements and building community and partnership relationships. Writes and presents information on bereavement programs. Develops and maintains relationships with client families, hospice agencies, local religious groups/clergy, geriatric service providers, educational institutions, hospice organizations, business organizations and other key business leaders within their community.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES 

Brand Awareness and Relationship Building

  • Establishes and maintains positive relations with client families, hospice agencies, local government agencies, veteran’s groups, and law enforcement agencies, hospitals and Chambers of Commerce as well as other key business leaders with the community such as physicians groups, hospices and local law firms.
  • Acquires approved memberships and participates actively in selected community organizations.
  • Communicates with management to ensure all company initiatives are followed and conveyed through the involvement of both public and private sponsored programs.
  • Makes presentations at educational seminars, affinity groups, public information speaking engagements, and conduct tours of funeral home and/or cemetery facilities.
  • Sets priority of which senior citizen programs, school programs, church programs, local activities are the best venues for company involvement.
  • Networks within the community to assist management in locating and recruiting potential candidates for employment.
  • Controls expenditures to remain within level approved by management.
  • Coordinates with Campaign Manager on events, referrals and/or information on funeral and cremation information and other related topics at the location or via telephone 
  • Conducts tours of funeral home and/or cemetery facilities. May provide customer assistance to high profile cases at funeral or memorial services or ceremonies to ongoing develop Client Family Relations.

Program Development

  • Develops speaking engagement plans & budgets, and applies discretionary and independent judgement. Develops program budgets and manages expenditures. Develops presentation materials; collaborates with management on key initiatives and offering revisions to incorporate into presentations. Develops and maintains key metric scorecard on effectiveness of Bereavement Programs. 
  • Networks within the community in locating and recruiting potential candidates for employment.
  • Other responsibilities as requested.

Experience and Education:

  • Associates Degree in Marketing, Business, or related discipline preferred
  • At least five (5) years marketing or sales experience focused on community outreach, event planning, or community development required.
  • Prior management experience (performance development, hiring) required
  • Social Media or on-line electronic marketing campaign experience strongly desired
  • Must be proficient in developing power point presentations and using MS Office Suite

Working Environment

Typical office environment and travel throughout the community in all weather conditions; cope with a high volume of work and with constantly changing priorities and interruptions; flexibility to work outside of normally scheduled work hours.  Make indoor and outdoor presentations to large public gatherings using platform speaking skills and audio-visual materials.
