Job Summary

Position is responsible for the collection and redistribution of hospital furniture/equipment throughout the facility as needed.

Shift:
6:30 am -3:00 pm, working every other weekend

Job Description

Minimum Qualifications

Education:  High School Diploma or GED

Licenses/Certifications:  None

Experience / Knowledge / Skills:

  • Ability to understand verbal and written instructions and communicate clearly and effectively with hospital staff.
  • Basic computer skills
  • Mechanically inclined, knowledge of basic use of tools.
  • Efficiency in multi-tasking and ability to prioritize simultaneous situations.
  • Ability to perform duties requiring extensive use of all extremities, prolonged and/or extensive standing, walking, pushing, pulling as well as be able to lift up to 50lbs without assistance.

Principal  Accountabilities

  • Ensures the timely collection and redistribution of hospital furniture and Transport equipment.
  • Ensures key hospital furniture is tagged with RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) tags. Monitors RFID database for inventory and logistic purposes as well as battery replacement on tags with low battery levels.
  • Ensures hallways are cleared within the facility by gathering stray equipment such as stretchers, cribs, wheelchairs and beds throughout the facility and returned to its respective location.
  • Executes direct contact with repair shop and contracted vendors to coordinate repairs and rental needs. Will also conduct basic repairs of Patient Transport equipment.  Reports replacement or damaged parts needed to ensure equipment is functional and safe for use.
  • Maintains the cleanliness of departmental storage areas.  Will also properly clean equipment stored in these areas utilizing proper protocols and hospital approved disinfecting wipes. 
  • Demonstrates safe work practices and attitudes; follows safety rules; works to prevent unsafe conditions and behaviors; participates in organizational and department safety practice programs.
  • Ensures safe care to patients, staff and visitors; adheres to all Memorial Hermann policies, procedures, and standards within budgetary specifications including time management, supply management, productivity and quality of service.
  • Promotes individual professional growth and development by meeting requirements for mandatory/continuing education and skills competency; supports department-based goals which contribute to the success of the organization; serves as preceptor, mentor and resource to less experienced staff.
