GEOAxIS is looking for a Chief Technical Lead to work with the rest of the technical leadership team to help drive program technical execution, innovation and modernization.

The GEOAxIS system provides Identity, Credential and Access Management for all web applications. GEOAxIS enables online, on-demand, access to NGA GEOINT content based on user’s authoritative attributes/roles. Our Mission is to maintain highly available ICAM services for protecting those critical mission applications across all security domains. The GxNext contract was awarded to Leidos in 2021 and runs until 2031.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Proven expertise translating technical ICAM concepts—such as identity lifecycle management, access control, authentication, authorization, & zero trust principles—into clear, mission-focused future capability aligned to NGA operational objectives maintaining relevance in DoD and IC spaces while accelerating competitive posture
  • Demonstrated experience supporting government and contractor leadership in vetting, analyzing, & reconciling requirements received from diverse external sources, including system users, mission partners, customer stakeholders, & industry-driven expectations—to ensure requirements are feasible, mission-aligned, technically sound, & consistent with program objectives & constraints
  • Experience leading and mentoring a small team of junior technical staff, providing direction and oversight for development and coding activities
  • Experience leading multidisciplinary teams and coordinating across government, contractor, and mission partners to deliver ICAM capabilities on schedule and within scope.
  • Demonstrated expertise in engaging non-technical government stakeholders, explaining the value, risks, and benefits of emerging and modernized technologies in plain language aligned to program objectives.
  • Strong track record of bridging the gap between technical teams and government customers to ensure shared understanding, informed decision-making, and successful implementation of solutions.
  • Recognized for building trust and credibility with senior government leaders through clear communication, strategic insight, and consistent delivery of mission value.
  • Extensive experience serving as a trusted advisor to senior government leaders, facilitating informed decision-making by clearly articulating benefits, tradeoffs, risks, and impacts of technology modernization efforts.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to brief executives and operational leaders at multiple levels of technical understanding.
  • Work with Program Leadership to determine paths and technology for improving operational stability and increased velocity of developmental output and deployment

Basic Qualifications

  • STEM Bachelor’s degree plus fifteen (15) years of experience, or Master’s degree plus minimum ten (10) years of experience in System Architecture, Software Development, DevOps, or Systems Engineering
  • Must have Active TS/SCI with Polygraph (or TS with SCI eligibility)
  • Demonstrated subject-matter expertise in Zero Trust ICAM solutions design and architecture
  • Demonstrated three (3) years agile methodology for capability integration and design.
  • Demonstrated in-depth knowledge of IC ICAM standards as well as IC ICAM roadmap architecture and implementation guidance.
  • 5 Years of ICAM (Identity, Credential, and Access Management) experience
  • Candidate must be able to physically be in Chantilly, VA a minimum of 4 days a week to work with the team with occasional meetings in Reston and/or Springfield, VA
  • Strong interpersonal skills and proven track record of leading technical teams, conveying technical solutions to technical and non-technical audiences
  • All candidates must be US CITIZENS to be considered for the position

Preferred Qualifications

  • Expertise in software and mission IT systems design, related architecture(s), and best practices.
  • Superior attention to detail & high quality organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Kubernetes experience using Rancher RKE2 or Openshift
  • Strong understanding of containers with experience containerizing existing custom software
  • Familiarity with modern authentication flows such as SAML, OAuth2 and OIDC

Pay Range:

Pay Range $131,300.00 - $237,350.00
