About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Data Engineer Lead to drive testing automation, build and scale robust, AI-enabled data pipelines, and promote strong collaboration across teams. The ideal candidate brings expertise in API, integration, and performance testing, solid experience with ETL and data quality, and the ability to lead projects that support analytics and AI-driven use cases.

Responsibilities

• Testing Automation
  • Lead initiatives for automated API testing, ensuring reliable and scalable APIs that support data and AI workloads.
  • Architect and implement integration testing solutions to validate end-to-end data flows, including AI and analytics pipelines.
  • Oversee performance and load testing to ensure system scalability, reliability, and high availability.
• Data & AI-Enabled Pipeline Management
  • Design, implement, and maintain ETL processes that support traditional analytics as well as AI-enabled data solutions.
  • Ensure data quality through rigorous validation, monitoring, and governance strategies across structured and unstructured data.
  • Build and optimize scalable data pipelines to support AI use cases such as feature engineering, embeddings, and RAG-based workflows.
• General Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including product, engineering, analytics, and AI/ML teams to deliver shared objectives.
  • Communicate data and AI architecture, pipeline designs, and technical strategy to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Lead and mentor team members, fostering a collaborative, high-performance, and innovation-driven environment.
  • Stay current with emerging data and AI technologies to drive continuous improvement and platform modernization.

Requirements

• Testing Automation Experience
  • Demonstrable experience implementing automated API, integration, and performance testing for data-intensive systems.
  • In-depth knowledge of testing frameworks, tools, and CI/CD integration.
  • Ability to troubleshoot, optimize, and scale automated testing processes.
• Data Pipeline & AI Enablement Expertise
  • Strong background in ETL development, data integration, and database management.
  • Experience implementing data quality frameworks, metadata management, and governance practices.
  • Exposure to AI-enabled data solutions, including data preparation for ML/GenAI, vectorized data, or RAG-style architectures.
•  Collaboration & Communication
  • Proven track record of cross-functional collaboration and technical project leadership.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate data and AI-related concepts.
  • Ability to mentor team members and lead initiatives with a strong focus on teamwork, ownership, and innovation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, or a related field.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience as a Data Engineer or in a similar data-centric role.
• At least 3 years of experience leading data engineering projects or teams.
• Proven experience working with automation frameworks such as Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, TestNG, JUnit, NUnit, Locust or PyTest
• Strong programming/scripting skills (e.g., Python, Java, or Scala) along with proficiency in SQL.
• Experience testing web and API-based applications using tools like Postman, REST Assured, SoapUI
• Solid understanding of test automation architecture, framework design, and best practices
• Hands-on experience designing and leading AI-enabled data solutions using frameworks such as RAG and agent-based architectures, including integration with data pipelines, vector databases, and cloud-based AI services.
• Strong verbal and written English communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate complex data and AI concepts, lead technical discussions, collaborate with global stakeholders, and produce high-quality technical documentation.
• Experience with modern data stack technologies (e.g., Kafka, Airflow) is a plus.
