In this role, you will:

  • Support pipeline oversight and file assignment by partnering with Lending Operations Managers to ensure consistent customer experience and operational efficiency
  • Apply knowledge of lending systems and procedures to guide team members and resolve routine and low to moderately complex issues
  • Present recommendations for process improvements and assist in performance and risk data analysis, identifying trends as well as contributing to root cause analysis
  • Participate in special projects and reporting efforts while exercising some independent judgement, including daily reporting, audit support, and underwriter test casing processes.
  • Provide information, input and feedback to functional colleagues, internal partners and stakeholders to enhance team performance and functional area deliverables


Required Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of loan processing, closing, or underwriting experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education


Desired Qualifications:

    • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow structured procedures accurately
    • Ability to learn and assimilate information from multiple systems (CORE, ICMP, LPO, MSP, Insights Center) and cross‑functional partners
    • Effective written communication skills to document discrepancies, escalate issues, and provide clear explanations
    • Ability to manage workload independently and meet deadlines in a fast‑paced environment
    • Demonstrated reliability and consistent work history
    • Experience in Home Lending, Closing Disclosure, Post Close, or similar operational review functions


Job Expectations:

  • Maintain consistent and reliable attendance
  • Execute daily pipeline oversight responsibilities with accuracy and urgency, including file assignment, monitoring workflow volumes, surfacing gaps or delays, and supporting consistent customer and partner experiences
  • Perform detailed review activities using tools such as Insights Center, CMR, LPO, ICMP, CORE, and randomizer/sample size workflows, ensuring accuracy in sample selection, task creation, and data validation steps as processes evolve
  • Meet daily and weekly production, quality, and risk‑control expectations, ensuring all work products meet internal standards, regulatory requirements, and documentation guidelines
  • Communicate clearly and professionally with Lending Operations Managers, underwriters, processors, and cross‑functional partners, providing concise updates, escalations, and clarifications as needed
  • Demonstrate strong ownership and accountability for assigned workload, following structured procedures, resolving low‑to‑moderately complex issues, and escalating appropriately when necessary
  • Participate in audits, reporting efforts, and special projects, ensuring timely completion of tasks, accuracy of data submitted, and effective collaboration with business partners
  • Adapt to process changes and evolving operational priorities, including new review workflows, enhanced sampling methods, system updates, and changes in quality expectations
  • Uphold Wells Fargo’s risk, compliance, and conduct standards, ensuring all activities reflect sound judgement, appropriate documentation, and adherence to policy
  • Model professionalism and team engagement, fostering a positive culture, supporting peers, and contributing to continuous improvement within the functional area

Wells Fargo is seeking a Lending Operations Consultant to support pipeline oversight, operational consistency, and quality execution across Lending Operations. This role plays a key part in ensuring a smooth customer experience, accurate file handling, and partnership with Operations Managers to drive efficiency, risk mitigation, and process stability.
