The Office of the Chief Technology Officer at the Aerospace Corporation helps bring innovative solutions to the space enterprise through technology awareness, innovative concepts, and rapid prototyping.  There are three offices within OCTO that bring these game changing solutions to our customers: Engineering, Science and Technology Hubs, the innovation lab – iLab, and the prototyping lab – xLab.  OCTO also manages the company’s internal R&D program and the Aerospace Technical Fellows program which makes up the top 30 engineers and scientists in the space industry. 

Aerospace Corp. Fabrication Services is an internal machine shop that provides machined parts for the entire company. Parts include satellite and space-based components, vacuum systems, items used in the physical science labs and a variety of other science related areas.

Work Model : This is a full time position based in El Segundo, Ca. which requires 100% onsite work

What You’ll Be Doing

You will be responsible for independently performing programming, machine set-ups and operating all standard shop equipment including CNC mills, CNC lathes and auxiliary equipment. Machining of all standard metallic alloys as well as ceramics, plastics, and exotic materials such as Invar, Inconel, and Molybdenum.  You’ll also be responsible for performing inspection of components using precision measuring tools.

What You Need to be Successful - Machinist Fabrication IV

Minimum Requirements: 

  • Minimum 7-10 years related experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Mastercam (experience programming with this software is a must)
  • Ability to work from detailed prints, sketches or verbal instruction
  • Knowledge of GD&T tolerancing
  • This position requires ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance, which is issued by the U.S. government. U.S. citizenship is required to obtain a security clearance

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENTS: 

  • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time
  • Ability to use a computer to complete assignments

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee will typically work in a lab environment
     

We offer a competitive compensation package where you’ll be rewarded based on your performance and recognized for the value you bring to our business.  The grade-based pay range for this job is listed below.  Individual salaries within that range are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge and skills.
