We’re currently looking for a motivated and experienced Nurse Unit Manager to lead our Adult Mixed Specialty Unit (Ward 1B) to drive clinical excellence at St Vincent’s Private Hospital Northside.   This is a rare opportunity to showcase your leadership abilities in an acute private hospital setting, overseeing the day-to-day operations of a busy Medical/Surgical ward, to empower and mentor nursing staff and to champion clinical excellence, safety and our patient experience – where compassion, excellence, justice and integrity is at the heart of everything we do.

Things that work for us: 

  • Registration with AHPRA (Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency) as a Registered Nurse

  • Recent experience as a Nurse Unit Manager in ideally, a private acute hospital setting

  • Experience in mentoring and leading large teams

  • Demonstrated achievement of organisational targets, in resource management, budgeting and workforce planning

  • Experience providing advanced clinical care consistent with our mission and philosophy of our hospital

  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills

Our hospital has 227 beds, 9 operating theatres, 2 cardiac catheter laboratories, a 17-bed Intensive Care Unit (ICU), Day Oncology Unit, Breast Health Centre, Endoscopy Unit, Cardiac Rehabilitation Unit and a 24-hour, private emergency centre provided by Brisbane Northside Emergency.
