The BPI Trainer serves as the primary connection between SAP system architecture and field operations, facilitating clarity by turning complex technical processes into actionable guidance for plant and branch teams. This role fosters divisional alignment by developing standardized training modules and guiding instruction to ensure administrative accuracy and system proficiency.
Beyond facilitation, the Trainer utilizes data-driven insights to identify operational friction, improve billing accuracy, and optimize resources. By partnering with the BSC and the Regions, and providing vital support during mergers and acquisitions, the Trainer aligns field activities with back-office requirements to ensure a seamless, end-to-end workflow.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. SAP & System Training
Dedicated Facilitation: Provide comprehensive training and continuous education for SAP, PROs, Google, and KITE.
SME Collaboration: Partner with Subject Matter Experts to develop enhanced, specialized SAP training modules that stay current with system updates.
System Translation: Facilitate understanding of SAP system architecture through actionable, field-level guidance for plant and branch operations.
2. Technical Training Development & Delivery
DRIVE Initiatives: Support and guide DRIVE programs by designing standardized training for Plant, Branch, and BSC operations to ensure divisional alignment.
Multi-Channel Facilitation: Deliver engaging classroom, virtual, and online training sessions.
Specialized Lab Management: Prepare and facilitate scheduled lab sessions to reinforce systems training in both virtual and in-person environments.
Standardization: Create streamlined templates and standardized training protocols to ensure administrative accuracy across the division.
3. Process Improvement
BPI & Compliance: Advance initiatives specifically aimed at improving First Invoice Accuracy (FIA) and upfront compliance to reduce downstream billing disputes.
Data-Driven Solutions: Analyze Customer Effort Scores (CES) and FIA data to identify root causes of friction and implement long-term training support.
Resource Optimization: Contribute to Continuous Improvement initiatives focused on identifying operational friction and implementing sustainable, lean solutions.
Mentorship: Provide ongoing mentorship to associates, nurturing a culture of professional growth and process efficiency.
4. Field Engagement & Business Integration
Site Collaboration: Conduct regular site visits to engage with team members in a supportive and influential manner.
Change Management: Provide attentive training and support for critical transitions, including Acquisitions, Mergers, Branch Closures, and Scratch Starts.
Back-Office Alignment: Partner with the Business Support Center (BSC) to align field operations with administrative back-office processes, ensuring a seamless end-to-end workflow.
Five+ years of collaborative leadership experience in retail and/or plant operations; extensive experience in distribution and logistics is a valuable asset.
We are looking for 5+ years of practical experience providing training to SAP end users.
Ideally, you possess a valid driver's license.
The role involves traveling at least 50% across the division to foster regional alignment.
Comprehensive understanding of Airgas Operating Standards and Branch Audits (BORA).
Comprehensive SAP knowledge; for example, serving as an SAP Subject Expert.
Two (2) years of previous experience supporting others' growth as a trainer, corporate training specialist, or related position.
Multi-industry knowledge and exposure in a high-volume, dynamic environment, with experience in order-to-cash, retail, or operational contributor roles.
Effective project coordination skills.
Experience with Lean Six Sigma methodology; a Yellow Belt certification is welcomed.
Excellent communication skills, with a dedicated ability to facilitate clarity by turning technical processes into relatable and actionable guidance for diverse audiences.
