We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced SQL Server Database Administrator to join our Managed Services team. In this critical role, you will be responsible for the performance, integrity, and security of our customer's SQL Server databases. You will leverage your deep expertise in database administration to ensure optimal database availability, implement robust backup and recovery strategies, and proactively address performance bottlenecks. Requirements:

  • 10+ years of experience in SQL Server database administration
  • Must have good DBA/devops experience in sql-2016 and sql-2019.
  • Must have solid knowledge on Alwayson troubleshooting.
  • Large database (5+ TB) administration is a plus
  • Client-facing experience a plus
  • Strong communication skills
  • Working with multiple and diverse clients a plus.
  • Experience managing workloads via a ticketing system
  • Logic Monitor and redgate experience a plus

Responsibilities:

  • Designs, documents, implements, monitors, secures and supports SQL Server database systems.
  • Able to do inplace or side-by-side upgrades
  • Understand the difference between different versions of SQL Server, especially SQL 2016 onwards.
  • Configure clusterless as well with cluster AG.
  • Performance troubleshooting
  • Able to perform dba maintenance audit and highlight missing checks.
  • Analysis of Query plan
  • Analyze the problem using monitoring tools.
  • Exhibit knowledge of a wide range of SQL Server versions
  • Plans and manages patch application on all database servers.
  • Contribute to enhancing delivery of services provided to clients
  • SQL version and cloud (AWS/Azure) migration expertise
  • Design and Manage Always-On cluster environment.
  • Designs, documents, implements, and monitors backup of critical database files, and other database protection or high availability solutions.
  • Monitors performance issues on all production and non-production databases (as applicable) implementing performance monitoring and trending on all production and applicable non-production databases.
  • Provides monthly reports to management on performance on production databases including any performance exceptions and all requested performance data in a summarized, easy-to-read format.
  • Collects and uses data to assess and enhance database performance.
  • Implements and documents standard, secure, high-performance configurations for all SQL Server installations.
  • Assist development and reporting groups in optimizing SQL statements and in designing and using databases and database applications and processes for maximum performance, security, reliability, and availability.
  • Participate in On-Call rotations with the other team members

Final compensation for this role will be determined by various factors such as education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the candidate, and alignment with market data and geographic location.
