As a Patient Access Coordinator, you will organize and coordinate the activities and flow of work for the patient access area.    

 

A caregiver in this position works days, from 8:00AM – 4:30PM. Additionally, a Saturday rotation from 8:00AM-12:00PM every other month.

 

A caregiver who excels in this role will:  

  • Organize and coordinate the activities and flow of work for the patient access area. 

  • Assign tasks, monitor performance of and assists in training patient service representative. 

  • Screen candidates, recommend hires, conduct performance appraisals and recommend corrective counseling. 

  • Develop, implement, and oversee programs to improve appointment utilization such as, reminder, follow-up on no-show/cancellation program. 

  • Coordinate activities and resolve operational problems. 

  • Adjust employees, patients, and physicians' schedules to respond to operational problems. 

  • Control and audit the reconciliation of day sheets including adjusting statistics in the computer data bank. 

  • Produce reports as needed. 

 

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:  

  • High school diploma or GED 

  • Two years Cleveland Clinic outpatient scheduling experience or other equivalent position, which includes interacting with patients, physicians, and other departments on a problem resolution basis  

  • OR three years external outpatient scheduling experience where demonstrated experience includes resolving patient scheduling and the coordination of the work of others 

  • Associate degree may substitute for one year of experience 

  • Bachelor's Degree may substitute for the experience requirement

Physical Requirements:

  • Requires frequent data entry, sitting, standing and walking. Normal or corrected vision, hearing and speech. Occasional lifting or pushing up to 25 pounds.
