The role

Provide support on delivering the plan for executing on all related activities and responsibilities of the team and as part of the wider Specialty operations community, as overseen by the Executive Director.

This role will suit someone who is task oriented, whilst interested in building relationships across our Specialty business and who can help with the delivery of advice and guidance to the business in relation to our approach to Consumer Duty and Product Governance.

We are looking for individuals who are comfortable working as part of a team in a collaborative way, as well as being able to take ownership of the role and drive activities with the business teams allocated to them and as otherwise directed.

What you'll do

  • Supporting the Consumer Duty & Product Governance team to engage with the four Pillar divisions within Specialty
  • Developing, analysing and reviewing the framework and toolkits as directed by the Business Partner and or Executive Director for the teams you have been asked to support, which includes but not limited to; Distribution Impact Assessments (DIAs), Information requests and Fair Value Assessments (FVAs), Product approvals where applicable, Good outcomes register, MI Monitoring, Attestations
  • In doing so, contributing to the single view of Consumer Duty & Product Governance across Specialty through reporting your activities, contributing to Committee Packs and other tools as required and having confidence in raising challenges with individuals, teams and key stakeholders, verifying the information and tracking to completion 
  • Participating in specific initiatives/projects to investigate metrics and data available to support the work of the team in enhancing the overall framework
  • Reviewing committee packs and reporting, as requested, to understand regulatory performance, key emerging risks and trends and how this impacts the Consumer Duty & Product Governance team
  • To work with other teams within the business functions; namely Business Assurance, Claims, Compliance and the broking teams within the pillars to establish the impact of all work the Consumer Duty & Product Governance needs to execute
  • Consider and respond to any Regulatory and Conduct concerns, issues or breaches identified by either the Consumer Duty & Product Governance team, or other business functions including Compliance, Compliance Monitoring Team and Internal Audit
  • Provides technical expertise to specific projects and initiatives to ensure goals and objectives are met as required by the Business Partner and or Executive Director
  • Keeps informed of all regulatory and legal changes which impacts on the job role and ensures up to date records are always maintained on the Company systems
  • Responds appropriately to urgent issues as they arise and ensures the timely completion of allocated tasks, activities and projects in a collaborative way

Who we're looking for

  • A minimum of 5 years working in an insurance intermediary, insurer or MGA in a compliance or compliance related role in the first, second or third line
  • Good knowledge of FCA requirements in relation to Consumer Duty, Product Governance and Vulnerability and experience of using and navigating the FCA handbook
  • Good experience and knowledge of regulatory expectations in general and understanding of insurance, principles, products and services
  • Ideally experience working with Broking teams within the Insurance industry
  • Strong written and oral communication skills and project management skills
  • Good planning, organisation, analytical, problem solving, delivery and time management skills
  • Able to prioritise effectively and articulate complex concepts simply
  • Experience of Microsoft Office, Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint a must, experience of Power BI would be advantageous but not necessary
