About Us
Working in technology at Elsevier means your work truly matters — it helps shape the future of healthcare and education. As a Senior Quality Engineer, you’ll see the real-world impact of your efforts in the lives of nursing students, educators, and ultimately, patients. Whether you're designing test scenarios, automating quality checks, or collaborating across teams, your contributions will help ensure the reliability and excellence of our digital products.
Our engineering teams have developed tools that empower educators to create custom assessments, streamline learning workflows, and improve student outcomes. We believe in the power of technology to transform education and support better care.
About the Team
We are a small, independent engineering team within Elsevier, with members located in Bosnia and the United States. Despite our size, we have full autonomy in decision-making and collaborate closely with colleagues and stakeholders across the organization. We maintain and extend one of Elsevier’s leading nursing health education web applications, helping faculty create engaging, focused learning experiences through custom quizzes and Elsevier’s extensive content library.
Our team values diversity, ownership, and open communication. We work in a collaborative environment where everyone’s voice matters and where technical excellence is paired with a strong sense of purpose.

This role requires strong communication skills, a collaborative and proactive mindset, and a focus on continuous improvement. You’ll be expected to take ownership of your work and contribute to the stability, scalability, and performance of our applications.

  • Apply CI/CD practices using tools like Jenkins.
  • Use version control systems such as Git.
  • Track bugs and manage tests using JIRA and other tools.
  • Participate in Agile/Scrum development processes.

Requirements
  • 5–8+ years of professional quality engineering experience.
  • Experience with test automation frameworks and scripting languages (JavaScript, Angular, NodeJS).
  • Proficiency in API and performance testing tools.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and version control systems.
  • Strong analytical and communication skills.
  • Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a distributed team.
