What is the compensation?
Pay Rate: $23.66 - $32.62 per hour (depending on experience)

What are the main duties? (Click here for the full classification specification.)
Plan, develop, organize, schedule, implement, create, and evaluate various recreational, athletic, and special event programs.
Develop registration forms, rosters, lists, policies, practices, and schedules in collaboration with operations staff.
Schedule needed facilities and staff and ensure appropriate access.
Order supplies and purchase program specific materials.
Assist with creation of division budget.
Develop creative marketing strategies and marketing materials for various programs.
Assist in recruiting, evaluating, training, and supervision of staff.
Identify and resolve performance issues including enacting discipline under the general direction of a supervisor.
Evaluate assigned programs and identify areas of success, deficiencies, and/or needed improvements.
Solicit information from program participants.
Develop new strategies for programs including making significant changes to assigned area of responsibility.
Assist other staff members and the public as needed and perform other related duties as required.
What are the minimum qualifications?
Provo City will honor equivalent combinations of job-related education and experience [substituting each 1 year of post-secondary education/training for 6 months of experience].
Bachelor’s degree in Recreation, Physical Education, or closely related field.
One year of experience in recreational program management.
A valid, lawful Driver License.
What is the selection process?
Applications will be reviewed in the order they are submitted, with the first screening being held on October 22, 2024. Applicants must meet the minimum qualifications listed above to be eligible for consideration.
If selected for hire, candidate will be required to successfully pass a drug screen and criminal background check. Non-disclosure may result in dismissal. Applicants with unsatisfactory drug screen results will be ineligible for appointment or application to any Provo City position for a minimum period of six (6) months.
