Business Support Intern – 12 Month Placement

POSITION: Business Support Intern 

We currently have a one year opportunity beginning in summer 2025 for a university placement student who is currently completing a Business Administration, HR or related degree and would like to expand their skills within a fast-paced multi-national organisation. 

The Intern Business Assistant will provide day-to-day operational support to assist the Engineering Director and other Senior Managers. 

RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Providing administrative support re: recruitment, staffing and requisition logistics; liaising with our Talent Acquisition Team and recruitment agencies.  
  • Creating NI Monitoring reports for each requisition filled. 
  • Carrying out inductions and tracking probation reviews for all new starts. 
  • Accurate and timely maintenance of local employee data – holiday/flexi-time tracking, absence and headcount data to support finance.  
  • Scheduling formal HR Meetings and attending in to facilitate note-taking when required.  
  • Assist with recording and identifying fixed assets and software licenses.  
  • Facilitating visitors to the site with hotel & dinner reservations and travel logistics  
  • Assisting with the day-to-day efficient operation of the Engineering Department. 
  • Creating Purchase Orders & liaising with our production/finance team. 
  • Organising staff events. 
  • Assisting payroll each month by submitting overtime, unpaid leave and various other exceptional requests. 

ESSENTIAL QUALITIES:

  • Strong numerical skills 
  • Strong presentational skills 
  • Must demonstrate proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office suite including Outlook, Word Excel, and PowerPoint etc. 

QUALIFICATIONS/DESIRED MAJOR:   

  • Applicants must be at undergraduate level, currently studying Business Administration with HR/Finance or related degree and available for one year’s placement. 
  • Work authorisation for the UK and ability to work full time
