You Are:

Most software developers, engineers, and architects get to build software systems. Very few get to say with a straight face: “I’m reinventing banking.” Or hospitality, or logistics, or insurance. We’re combining technology, industry expertise, and entrepreneurial experience to massively disrupt our clients’ core businesses. We partner with our clients to propel them into the future and to help create better products and experiences for everyone.

We’re doing this by leveraging the power of patterns (Anti-Corruption Layering, Strangler fig, Microservices, Event Sourcing, etc) and technologies (Kafka, Solace, Change Data Capture, Node.js, Go, Containerization, PaaS) to build cloud-native solutions for the enterprise based on modern event driven architectures.

Our team is deeply hands-on, highly technical, and prides itself in being battle hardened, lead-from-the-front technology thought leaders. The ability to take complex ideas, synthesize them for common understanding, while maintaining a focus on details is a must for this role.

In this role as a Core Systems Architect you will be focused on designing, architecting, and then building new systems of record & core processing platforms at the heart of industries. Where once was a system put in place in 1970 to run like clockwork every night during batch will now stand a newly decoupled and scalable application to bring functions like Ledger, Inventory, and Supply Forecast into the modern era. The systems you design won't just be integrations between big SaaS but the kernel at the heart of multi-billion-dollar companies.

We are in the midst of helping clients fundamentally rethink how to transform 20+ years old systems and services in investment and core banking, payments, retirement and wealth management into modern cloud native. The industry is at a crossroads and needs help from the outside in order to make most efficient use of capital, retain customers in the face of emerging competition, and compete as the market rapidly changes. This also means a fundamental change to architecture, engineering and delivery processes, and re-thinking once unshakeable assumptions.

We are looking for industry veterans who have lived with the loose collection of functionalities bolted onto existing monoliths: hard to maintain and harder to enhance.  If you want to be part of the next generation of core banking, we have a place for you.

Preferred Background in 1 of the following industries:

Retirement/Wealth and Financial Services

We are in the midst of helping clients fundamentally rethink how to transform 20+ years old systems and services in investment and core banking, payments, retirement and wealth management into modern cloud native. The industry is at a crossroads, and needs help from the outside in order to make most efficient use of capital, retain customers in the face of emerging competition, and compete as the market rapidly changes. This also means a fundamental change to architecture, engineering and delivery processes, and re-thinking once unshakeable assumptions.

We are looking for industry veterans who have lived with the loose collection of functionality bolted onto existing monoliths: hard to maintain and harder to enhance.  If you want to be part of the next generation of core banking, we have a place for you.

Aerospace/Defense:

Suppliers, manufacturers, and operators in a once-closed ecosystem area being challenged. This brings new partner possibilities & a market force for change to existing organizations. As the Aerospace & Defense industry looks to incorporate new technologies & processes into its physical space, it must also change the way the operate digitally. All while maintaining the same strict control and quality assurance required of this space.

If you’re an industry veteran who want to create the next set of technology foundations: Lessons learned from history input into the engine of modern engineering. If you want your legacy to shape the next decade, we have a place for you.

Specific Experience:

  • Working as a architect in an industry leading designer, supplier, or manufacturer OR has been in a key technical architecture role in a demonstrably successful startup. Military service & experience are a welcome plus.

  • Successful design and implementation of emerging technology to solve a key Aerospace/Defense industry business or critical system architecture problem.

OR

Supply Chain/Logistics:

In a world where Just-In-Time logistics is at odds with volatile global economics & disasters, our clients are desperate to build upon their existing expertise with a stronger ability to adapt real-time to changing situations. When the cost of redirecting cargo can fluctuate in minutes, management of supply chain and logistics must merge its short and long-term horizon. This means knowing where everything is in real time, and being able to redirect cargo across multiple channels at scale in minutes rather than hours. We are partnering with our clients to move terabytes of meaningful data in seconds, and then have the engines to analyze and make decisions in minutes.

If you’re an industry veteran who wants to stop creating new pigeonholes and connecting new integrations without new functionality, you can be part of changing the core of the industry: We have a place for you.
